Aspen charges ridiculous rates to film anywhere in town and on any of their mountains, hence the reason that there are so few commercials shot there. Make sure you keep that in mind. If you are going to shoot at Aspen, the best scenery is definitely at Highlands.
Telluride is probably the most beautiful town in Colorado. You should look into it. Property values are also more expensive than Aspen, so I would expect that it is also expensive to shoot there.
I have some connections with a film company out of Aspen that helps organize photo/film shoots in the town. PM me if you would like me to pass on contact info to you.

Telluride has such a good atmosphere in the town, too, as well as great skiing, so I would definitely look into filming there.
