Cross Country

Who runs cross country? i want to compare our state to other states. i'm a freshman on varsity and took 33rd at state, my time was 16:50 (5K). the winner was like 15:03. Class AA.

all the runners in my school are straight up gay boys, im pretty sure they all have gay sex, no joke theyre fucking weird, theres 1 normalish guy and thats it

well thats cool, i wasnt asking what the runners were like at your school. does anybody know any times? or anything related to their highschool cross country team? and your probably just really sterotypical. i was thinking the same thing when i joined and most of the kids are really cool and cross country gets you in shape for skiing.

fuck x-country  i used to do it  from 5th-9th grade. until i realized how much i hate running more than 10 feet.   yes, thats right  eastar5 running miles and miles everyday.  I was one of the better kids too

I run cross in BC, im injured this year.

I got 30th at BC's and ran believe the course was 6.3km in 21:17.

totally agree. i'm over it. i ran x-country faithfully from grade 2 to grade 12, and was really good for a period of time along the way. why i kept at it is beyond me.

yea i run. In track last year i didnt do very well. 4:56, 2:10, and 10:56 steeple. But this year in xc i am doing pretty well, im ranked 10th in my section. except right now i am slightly injured from going ballz deap and getting second at league meet.

cross country is gay. you start in one spot and finish like 10 ft. away from where you started. its not like your goin any where. then you gotta where those gay nut hugger shorts when i ran i was always lookin to make sure i wasnt hangin out

way to have an open mind buddy.

Its a personal challenge, and if you're not interested that fine. But calling it "gay" just because you're not good at it is pretty lame.

And the shorts, well I'll admit they dont look great. However you wear them for performance. Its like say snowboarding is cooler then skiing because the boots look cooler when you walk in them in the chalet.

are you winning nationals with that time? because zoey nelson from flathead won nationals with a 16:50 a few years back. and yes i know courses are different, but i live in montana (lots of hills), great falls golf course is ranked the 4th hardest course in the nation.

no i did not make it to nationals, but out of all the 5Ks i have ran, that has been the best, but ive only gotten it once and ive never been able to get it down that low again, usually i get 17:10-20ish?

you're a freshman and you run 16:50... what!? thats unbelievable. Im a junior and run around 18:30. my school is class B, and will repeat sectional champs, then get owned at states

i just finished my section meet, and i PRd. im not that fast of a runner, usually 19:30ish, but today i got like 18:25. it was a good note to end my last season on. i also passed 2 people in the last 50meters. it was great. the winner got 15:25. i xc ski too tho, and im pretty sure i'll beat most of them once skiing sections comes around. (i got 3rd last year). somebody should make a cross country cult.

short shorts and shaved legs are hot. How about that? Unfortunately i wear spandex under mine because i jump and hurdle, b ut if i ran distance I would def wear short shorts 24-7 I'm in the red in this pic

yep, i'm fourth on our team. my friend is also a freshman and he ran 17:10. we're gonna be state champs junior and senior year hopefully. hoping to allstate next year.

wow come to think of it 16:50 is pretty fast, year in canada we ran 6km in highschool so i had to do the math.

well ihave a high metabolism and run55-60 miles a week. but you know im not really that skinny. im lean for running.

You got 33rd in state with only a 16:50? In double A? Where do you run?!

My junior year I ran that same time, placed 98th, and I run for class B in michigan. Granted, michigan has some of the best teams in the country but still. Senior year sucked, put in like 350 miles training over the summer, stress fractured Both of my Femurs and missed the entire season.

Its really not that bad, once you get up to it. I was doing that and taking Sundays off for a while during High School, the most I did in a week was 87 at CC camp, we were doin 2 a days.

yea, one of the best guys in my state in hs peaked at 90-100 mpw during the end of summer, and he ended up running 15:40ish 5k on a tough tough course.
