k so hes thinkin the karma.. are they light or what.. how would they compare in weight to the foil?

can't get much lighter than the foil, that's the huge advantage of the foam core. at 155 or whatever you said for the weight the foils would be pretty dope if you like the skis on the soft side, they're pretty much the opposite of the karmas as flex goes if he has it down to those two it's basically a choice between soft or stiff. the weight is also mad different, but you get used to any weight ski and wont really notice it after a while.
