it's so you can set your din hight (10) or so and the ski wont totaly be locked in. were as if you had a p12 or something and you put it at 10 it would be super noneforgiving
well actually im 5'11'', and I have had salomon 9-14s, look, p-14s, and rossi race 155, and when you take a 90 footer deep and eject with your din on 13 it makes you realiz you need a higher din. Last year I started jumping bigger stuff, and I would come out of my shit, I also want a binding where Im not at 13 and maxing out my spring. It would be better to have 18 and set it at 14. um sorry if you read that , sorta long winded.
hey, im not questioning your need for some burly bindings, but theres a slight chance that your bindings/din have nothing to do with your releasing problem. Before i realized what was wrong, I used to pop out of my bindings on normal little bails when they were cranked to 13, and im not even that huge. turns out my toe and heel of my boots had worn off so much from hiking my bindings had nothing to grip. if you havent thought about it, you might wanna check that out. It could be your boots that you need to replace, not your bindings at all.
were you on markers before?
also the turntables on fks bindings really don't do shit for keeping the toe release consistent, they're still really unpredictable bindings
