Reverse Camber

Why don't we just call it what it's actually called instead of making up new shit so it's unique to skiing.
It's called ROCKER no more of this reverse camber shit.

can someone explain what reverse camber is?  i always get confused....is it like how the spatulas are?

reverse camber and a rocker are two totally different things. reverse camber is a ski that is arc'd the whole length of the ski. a ski with a rocker(s) is flat underfoot, while the tip and the tail rise at a designated point, the rocker. skis with a rocker are more versatile, as they can be skied on hard pack snow much more effectively thanks to the conventional shape underfoot. reverse camber skis, however, are skittish to plain impossible to ski on hardpack because there is no flat contact point to the snow. as stated in the new skeeze magazine: "they're like a deer on ice." who wants a ski that acts like a deer on ice?

so, basically the explanation you gave seems almost identicle for both the rocker and reverse camber. it's the same thing. give me an example of a ski with rocker but not reverse camber? you can't. all skis either have camber, or rocker. unless they are from pre 1980s. and for the guy who asked what rocker is, it is when the skis are shaped to bow out, the lowest point being right underfoot. the K2 pontoons are reverse camber, and Armada's new, mid-season release will have it too.

the 193 4frnt EHP's are flat underfoot are they not? so they would have rocker and the pontoons would be reverse camber.

The K2 guys tested AK enemies with a "rocker" (upward kink in the ski) in front of the bindings, still normal ski behind. Just to get more float.

Reverse camber is like camber.... but in the opposite direction.

i don't know about the EHP's, but if they are indeed built how you described, then the do have a rocker. no, the pontoons are not reverse camber. they have rockers in the tips and in the tails. they are flat underfoot. the spatulas are reverse camber. they have a continuous arc throughout the length of the ski.

EPH is actually supposed to have no camber at all, completely flat.  word is there actually was a mistake made at the factory and they are possibly having to recall them all because the ones released have some camber.

anyway, rocker and reverse camber are different.  Reverse camber refers to a ski that has reverse camber throughout the whole ski.  That means when laying flat on the ground the middle of the ski will be the lowest and the tips and tails will be the highest.

A rocker can refer to just the tip or tail of the ski.  The K2 skis being tested last year had tip rocker only, meaning the camber in the tail was still normal, but the tip had reverse camber. 

So, a rocker and reverse camber are technically refering to 2 different things.

I don't agree with your differentiation between reverse camber and rocker. With wakeboards you can have three stage rocker, which is flat in the middle or continuous rocker which is shaped like a rocking chair. They are refered to as rocker in both instances.

no the pontoons have ROCKER not reverse camber. There is a 8ish inch flat spot under the binding then it curves out from there, reverse camber has one spot were the ski touches the ground when you put it down, not 8 inches of it. A ski with reverse camber is almost impossible to ski on any snow that insnt 6 or more inches deep.

is this a wake boarding site....no. Iggy and that other guy , i can't remember his name have it right. To say it again, reverse camber is a continuous shape from tip to tail(think about flipping your ski up side down and ignoring the tip and tail) Rocker is flat under foot with the tips or both tips and tail turned up.
