Anyone use hybrid binding setups?

heres my situation. i work at a shop, and can get FKS's for dirt cheap. Now, i am also building skis this season, and we will be utilizing threaded inserts to mount bindings on our personal skis, to allow the use of one or two bindings with multiple skis in our quiver.

so anyway, the FKS do not have wide brakes. so you bend them. however, wide brakes on a midfat ski= no good. i also dont want a high din binding for my park skis, 12 is plenty. however, i want the extra umph of a 14 din. so, heres what im thinking about doing. i have a set of OLDschool turntable heelpieces, which are identical to newer ones, just the housing is differnt, and the halfcircle retainer plate is plastic VS aluminum (any issues with that guys that have done this?). the only problem is the dins are maxed at 10. what about scrapping a pair of beat p14s, and installing the higher din spring in there, and using it with the Pivot 14 toe? this would be a shitoad cheaper than buying two pairs of FKSs, and i can get the FKS12s for next to nothing. pretty much, my question is are the springs the same dimensions from line to line?

i've tried putting salomon toe peices on skis with the rossi pivot heel peice and that was good for a laugh but not for skiing. as for changing springs in similar heel peices i cant see why they wouldnt as long as they are from the same company but you will probally have a hard time compacting the spring back in if there is any tension on it

why are widebreaks on midfat skis no good? what is considered mid fat to you?

get the fks and then some other bindings like the mojo15 which are pretty cheap but also solid and not heavy.

why would he get two different pairs, i think he is trying to be able to use his bindings on all of his skis

my bad. i didnt really clarify.

i can get FKS 12s very cheap. i will never need more than a 12 din for park, so those would work fine.

a 14 din with wider brakes would be much more usefull in powder. and safty isnt really an issue. its EXACTLY the same design, the plastic just looks a bit differnt.

wide brakes on a narrower ski will catch when carving switch. then they bend/get ripped out= pain in the ass.

mostly im just looking if people have done this, and to ensure the springs are the same size and utilize the same compression ratios from the FKS and pivot. i work in a shop so i can set the dins appropriatly.
