hes smoother than everyone but definatley not ahead! Even in Pollards comentary (push) he admitted that he wasnt "PUSHing" harder than most skiers! Like he says "flow"! BUT HIS NOSE BUTTERS IN THE BC POW IS SOOOO ILL! (/NOSE PRESS ON BOX)
So he says he wasn't pushing himself and yet you yourself said he was smoother than everyone. Doesn't that in of itself say that he's lightyears ahead of everyone is terms of the direction skiing should go?
dude all i am saying is that hes not, "soo ahead of everyone eles". Im not downing pollard by any means, I love his style. But honestley "lightyears"? Hes totally one of the best skiers,..... at what he does on the mt. But no ones "lightyears" a head of anyone anymore (not like tanner, jon, candide, 4-5-6-years ago).
In my opinions he's way ahead of anyone. This is what skiing will become. I don't think everyone will do his style of riding but we're gonna see more and more of it to come.
I just saw PUSH this weekend and thought it was a better product than some previous MSP films. But I agree Pollard's segment was one of the best. And the butters in pow were crazy.
he is just soo ahead of the game. If you just watch him evolve over the years, its crazy. At the begining of his carrer ( propaganda, ski movies, etc) he is just a regular jiber. When he started to pow ski, things just changed. He took switch in pow to such a new level. He brought back aspects of his pow skiing back into the park. It just made him soo smooth. The Tricks he does are not as insane as many other skiers, but he does those tricks to PERFECTION. the timing, air, speed, motion, fulidity.......everything is perfect.
not discrediting him at all cuz i love his style.
maybe the direction you think skiing should go, but skiing is going into so many different directions. he slays stezey shit and anything in powder. but you cant say that is where skiing is going and segments like hatviets segment and other sick segments arent
for backcountry, he is setting the trends to come, remeber the front line? he was doing switch ow in that and was years ahead, as he was doing it with speed and fluidity. every year he has progessed switch pow. and i think it's kinda nice to see a little bit a park in his segments again, to show he still slays eveything in his path. he has some of the smoothest nosepresses around.
Uh wilson, bushfield? Better. Thats more progression. Smooth is easy to attain at pollards level tricks. He needs to continue probressing tricks. His segment was sick tho
I thought the same thing. Luckily I was drunk enough to stop feeling how much my feet hurt from standing for so long. And that was the first time I ever saw Sarah Burke in person...H....O....T
