my parents take care of the bill and what happened was my folks canceled the data plan in the middle of the month, and they said that it stops the email forward (he had his email forwarded to his cell phone). anyway, the emails kept on coming in, and my folks never told him that they canceled it. they thought it wasnt a problem anyway, since they were told it would pretty much just deactivate the data thing. apparantly without the plan they charge a dollar per kilobyte for data. throw in about 15-16 megabytes in data and you got a bill for 16 grand.
we're calling the attorney general on this issue tomorrow, since there is no way in hell that we're paying 16 grand for a couple weeks worth of emails hahaha

that cant be,
my most expensive was 900 dollars for two months NO JOKE. i got my treo, and they said i had unlimited browsing on internet so i was stoked. so two months lter, after being on the net a little bit, the bill comes in and i get in shit. so we go see a guy at bell and hes like, yeah they messed up. then the higher end people at bell said we had to pay. also saying i was on my hpone from 11 to 5 in the morning, which i wasnt, it was gay. after a while, my dad talked to his brother, who happens to be treasurer at bell, then it was all good.
true story

not possible. do the math. i averaged 10cents a minute in my math and this is suggesting that the person spoke 24 hours 7 days a week for 30 days straight. and the bill was only 4320.
if your bro got one for 16,000...he would be paying almost 40(37.xxxx) cents a minute. and would be talking for 720 hours straight.
so yes. it is not possible.

we're going to try and fight it.. no one in their right mind would pay 16 grand for 16 megabytes worth of wireless data.. its like looking at a picture of your mom naked and paying 500 bucks! anyone in their right mind would just log onto a computer and do it for free.

The online account manager feature, or in other words, Cingular's website, has been down for a while. It was down when I was at work on Saturday.

no joke, you can get a call from your cell phone that tells you to call this 816 area code ( i think its 816) and they tell you something bad happened. So you call this number and it is $24,000 a minute. Yes, 24 grand a minute. It is an island in the bahamas, and it is 100% legal. If you call, they relay this really long message so you get screwed.

bullshit, my highest was like $500. My friend was from NJ, but she moved here to SF and she called me twice in a month and we talked for like 2 hours each time, so it was long distance, my parents were hella pissed

mine is 174.60 a month. I have unlimited talk, txt, data. I also ahve caller id and voice mail allong with 1000 long distance minutes for when im out of the area. By having everything theres no way I can get over charged, and with my latest job I can afford it.

yeah, i heard about that. 816 and a couple of other area codes are like 24000 a minute. don't ever for any reason call one of these numbers, it's totally legal and you'll get screwed

yeah, and throw a couple extra zeros behind the 160. seriously, read a decent portion of the thread before you actually decide to scroll down to the 'reply' button, jackass.

mine works out to be like $15 a month.
evenings, weekends, 125 outgoing text messages incoming are free.
pay for voicemail, caller id, the 911 thing, and like tax.
and my parents pay the $15 dollars anyways
so yea
