Well the thing about the Book of Mormon linking Jesus and Lucifer (the Devil) as brothers is true, and is taught in today's church. My question is, how can you believe those in the 12 and the president of the church are chosen by god to lead the church, on top of that you're saying they are led by divine vision... How can you say a man is working at the will of god? The same was said of Kings and Queens, we look back now and laugh, they were the most corrupt people on the planet. The origins of the Mormon relgion is one of my biggest problems with the religion. You believe Joseph Smith was blessed by various revelations that led him to the Golden Tablets, after that he was given the ability to read these plates. The angel that was responsible for delivering these revelations was described as an angel of light, but in other chapters of the Book of Mormon these angels of light are workers of the devil. The translation of the Golden Plates is the biggest BS story I've ever heard, the people involved had to be the dumbest most gullible people on the planet, but when you want to belive something bad enough you dumb yourself down to taste. Joseph Smith was a criminal, and on his journey to the promised land he was killed for being a horse theif, some profit... But people aren't perfect... Brigham Young took over the church's presidency and did a great job building the church to what it is today. He reveared by most of the church for being the greatest president to date, but he was also a great polygamist... The guy had 27 wives!
Link to source info. Yet today the church shuns those who practices something that was more than acceptable to the church's greatest saint? I want to link a page that shows numerous discrencies of the teachings of the Mormon church and what Mormons say they believe. Go to CARM.org if you want some answers. If mormons like to refer to themselves as chistians why do so many of their teachings go against what the rest of christianity? I lived in a city that Mormonism was the code as to who was who in the community. If you weren't a mormon you were blacklisted on many levels. From being put at a disadvantage in public schools by the amount of teaching you would one on one instruction you would recieve if you were struggling, to team sports; it didn't matter what your talent level was you'd more than likely be benched if there was a mormon playing your same position... To getting a job in that town, believe me it wasn't easy. The same is still going on with my siblings, and the same feelings are felt by many people who also weren't mormon that grew up in that city along with me. If a religion teaches equality, and the followers go to so many lengths to achieve godliness how can these conditions exist? I don't believe Mormonism is the teachings of god, and I don't believe their beliefs are in the least bit true. The mormon will say they feel sorry for me, and all I can say to that is, I feel sorry for them...
'...Smoking's bad, smoking killed my dad. Yeah, he was driving down the highway one day and as he was lighting his cigarette, it blew out the window. So he jumps out the door to save it, and ran himself over. Uh, you mind if I smoke?' -Olie Ollaussen, Ski Bum extraordinaire
