Style vs. tricks

i know both are important, but what matters more to you? i also know that this is probably a played out thread.

would you rather have a tone of tricks or mad style?

Even tho the topic has been discussed X times before its still interesting. I prefer style as im shit at tricks, but because i prefer style that means prgression is slow, although we all have those days when you just get pumped and conqure a number of things.

style definitely.     if you do a sketchy ugly flaily trick nobodys gonna really care, but if you do a steezed out cork 3 or something simple with great style people are going to notice.

for me, i want to build up trick basis, but then i want to make them look really styley, like i wont properly move on to a new trick till im totaly comfortable with a trick and it looks good

i think you just got to go to the park and learn shit. Once you got a trick down practice it and make it look sick, but also throw new stuff that will probably look like shit. Start small go big, and work on style inbetween, that way your tricks dont look sketchy as hell, or you can only do 3's and 5's. Its a sort of balance, do some of both

def style. style shows how good you are. you can just huck spins and land randomly. my friend is like that. we were skiing once and max spin he can do is 7, but he landed 10's and 9's that day, but he couldnt other times.

llearn a trick, you shouuldnt care about style at first,then once you can constantly get it to your feet, grab your skis and bend your kneeeez.

I agree with what people above have said...most of the time when you are first learning a new trick its not gonna be steezed out...but I'd much rather see a super smooth and steezed out 7 than an ugly lookin 9

Yeah isnt the purpose of park skiing to learn tricks WITH style? Now if you mean hucked spins vs. stylish slow ones then it makes more sense. I mean whats the purpose of doing a cork9 if its all penciled and looks like shit, I would rather go big with a steezy 180 and actually get the grab rather than look like a wet noodle

you've gotta have both, but i prefer a large trick bag. perfect style doesn't impress the gapers on the lift.

yea, i would have to say that both are the most important, u need style, but if its just a 3, then a 7 is a lot better, well.... i dunno, i think style, but u have to have a dec trick

definitely style, but not to the point where it hinders your progression. If you are focused on having the sickest cork 5 tail out there(which you wont cause t-rizz has it on lock), and you cant do anything but a cork 5, you are just as wack as somebody that can only do pencil spins.

style is about diversity of tricks, grabs, and then your own personal image and attitude.

i think you obviously need a bit of both, but more style then tricks, if you spin a 1260 or something, and its all over the place, its still impressive, but if you spin the smoothest cork 5 or 7 out there, i would prefer watching that

i think tricks cuase they take more balls and once you do like a 10 or a 9 then when you do 3's and 5's its alot easier to get smooth and not scary at all

onvce you do something about 25 times it forms a habit. aka once you build up that "trick basis" it will be nearly impossible to fix

It's all about steeze! I would rather see a super sick zero spin or a 180 than a switch 1440... I mean big spins are sick and hard but a 120ft zero spin would be way the fuck more sick!
