I want to know how is their park, what is its rating on freeskier and if anyone rides there, pleas tell me how it is or what you think about it. Thxs..
squaw? park? BWAAHAHAHAHAa, ^^^ ya as he stated they dont have a park and last year they didnt have a park until april. But when they finally get their shit in gear, their super pipe is dope. then they have a 90 foot hip. quite a few rails. And if they feel up to it a fun jump line. other than that go to flatstar or AM midseason.
it snows so much that they dont build one till march or april like they said^^the rest of the mountian has so much good terrain its not worth putting money into the park when it needs to be rebuilt every few days after new snow. I'm told Alpine meadows has the best all around park, and northstar has a crazy amount of rails but jumps arent as good as alpine.
When I live there they never really got things going until the spring. They usually had something, it just was never very good. I like parks to be built slowly, gradually make the kickers bigger as the season goes on. Usually squaw did nothing, and then through stuff up when they got a break in snow, or figured out they might be losing afew people to Northstar.
I went last season in January, and yeah, they had jumps but they were soooo small, I kept hitting the flats, and there wasn't any pipe. The year before that, I went in mid March, and they had a beautiful pipe and good sized jumps, a couple were hella big.
To Clarify: There are at least three different parks at Squaw, the big park doesnt go up until march usually, but the mini park is open by January and the night park is usually up in December. The mini park last year had four small jumps (15-25) and one larger (30 ft step down) as well as a bunch of small rails and boxes. The night park has four jumps from 20-40 feet as well as a mini pipe (10 foot walls) and a few rails and boxes (c box, up flat down, rainbow, urban down rail, and a flat down)
If you need a tour hit me up sometime...
pretty much exactly except the min park is usually up by the end of november, and them the main park decemberish, then the super park and pipe later, hopefully we can get our super park up earlier this year
They had some decent stuff in jan and feb this year but it was all completely buried by the redonkulus snowfall in march. There was no way any park crew could have kept the park in shape with that amount of snow, they just gave up and rebuilt it when it stopped snowing. I guarantee you nobody in their right mind missed the park for the month or so it was buried.
