Look or 4frnt Bindings ---

Hey guys, through my freestyle team i can get a deal on both 4frnt bindings and Look bindings. I am looking at the P18s and the 4frnt 816 deadbolts. I can get a great deal on either one, so price is not an issue. Strictly performance, reliability, and least importantly, aesthetics. Please, only people with experience respond, lets not get ridiculous here.
I weigh about 150-155 pounds, I'm 5'7, and pretty strong, and I ski pretty hard. They will be going on this years Butterlicious 170's.
Just for the record, I like the way the 4frnts look. But that is a totally backseat issue. So lets hear it!!!

Looks. I'm willing to bet they're lighter, and there is actually a reason that most pro skiers use them. They an amazing binding, light, and will keep your knees alive better than any others.

go with the deadbolt, 4frnt has really put a lot of effort into these babies and they've got special shit on them that nobody has

go with the looks for sure, they just hold your foot in so well you will be so stoked. Every little movement of your foot is reacted by the ski, unlike some other binding company's where you actually have to force a turn to get some responce, go look.

Personally...i use all look/rossi bindings. They are the best, hands down, IMHO. However, if it keeps your foot on the ski, i cant really tell a difference. Go with the lightest and the highest DIN you can afford and you will be set.

^ agreed if you fall hard with too high a din youll break something. dont just get the highest din binding in both just because they cost more. They only cost more because the materials need to be able to handle higher stress levels induced by a bigger rider. I cant imagine a 155 lb kid needing more then a din 12. get the look px12 jibs. those are the best bindings in my mind.

Man it's so much personal preference. I mean, I am riding 4frnts salomon and rossi bindings. Each binding has it's up and downs ya know? Salomon for low weight for jib skis, rossignols/looks you can't go wrong with and are good anywhere but I think they have the best release. And the 4frnt's seem bombproof as hell.

yeah you guys are probably right. these are all bindings i was recommended to get which is why i am open to suggestions
However, I had Rossi Scratch 120's on 12 and they came off more then I wanted them to. I guess I want a high din binding so I can keep it at 12 and have it be more reliable.
But I am way open to any advice, suggestions, and comments. Definitely not too proud to change my mind.

Never tried 4frnts, but I have looks and I've had looks forever and they kick ass

that most likely means you have defective bindings or the people who mounted em fucked up or it wasnt actually set on 12 even if u thought it was (maybe the gauge that says what its on broke) because theres no way someone weighing 155 could have a bindings release more then they would like (unless its salomon or marker) im 180 lbs and ride din 8 on looks and they release when i want them to but never when i dont. go look whatever your choice is though, ive never had a problem

I dunno Im about that size, just a little bigger, and mine won't stay on below 10. Its definately realistic chronic777may need a higher din

make sure to post when you blow your knee so I can laugh at you.
I'm 5 10 and 180lbs, I ride park hard as fuck but I'd rather have my skis come off on a sketchy landing.
I have look px12 jibs, my toe din is 9 and heel is 11, for pipe I turn my toe up to 10
hope that helps

yeah man... no way you need the P18 or 816. Don't be crazy. I'm 6'3 and 185 and will have the 412 on my park skis and the 614 on my pow skis. I think you should get the 4frnt 412.

Looks bindings are especially good for freestyle because they release at the toe from direct upwards pressure where as a lot of bindings dont have that movement, helping release in crazy switch crashes. They are also very small in size and are quite light.
The 4frnt bindings are Nordica bindings from a few years back, they're pretty simple, based on the Marker/Tyrolia design. (Only side to side release at the front and upwards release at the heel.)
The Salomon design is slightly safer in odd crashes as downward pressure on the toe piece pad helps the release sideways. But Salomon bindings are big and I've found the wings at the toe come loose and have to be adjusted a lot.

4frnts are just nordica bindings with a 4frt logo right?
I've skied on nordicas and looks and both are decent, I like looks better for over all feel, just those damn breaks on switch falls.
anyway...I have heard nothing but good stuff about p15s and p18s though, I would say go for p15s since they have a metal construction but start at a lower din

^^I believe 4frnts have an upward toe release as well. You can lock it out if you want.

I havent had any problems with 4frnt bindings. Hold you in well, release when needed, light. Shits legit.

look p18'ss are very heavy solid steal race bindings. i have them and i love them, theyll always hold you in no matter what. if you get p18's youll never need to buy a new sset of bindings.

I would say go with the look jib's I have never had a problem with them. din's at 8, and I am about your size. plus they have a dampening pad, for those flat landings.

im not saying that i am some super amazing skier that forces my bindings out at 12. i'm telling you the facts, I had a rossi scratch binding cranked and it came off usually when i didnt need it to and stayed on when it probably should have come off.
i'm not trying to be cocky, i'm trying to keep my skis on.
