My Crew have been looking into getting a new digital camera recently and i was wondering what you guys and girls would suggest. We have a limited bugget of arond a grand but i would like some input. Thanks!
What ben meant was a video camera, not still. So ya, suggestions please.
Im thinking maybe one of the cameras in the panasonic pv-gs line, depending on what we wanna spend. Although from reviews i read the 300 is really no different than the 180, so it's probly the 180 if we're going cheap, or the 500 if we wanna spend more. Other suggestions and thoughts about those cameras would help tho.
i have the pv-gs300, and ur wrong, there r lots of differences between the 180 and 300. the main one is the 180 uses electronic image stabilization which reduces image quality, while the 300 has optical image stabilization which doesnt at all, so wen ur doing follow cams the 300 will keep its great picture quality while the 180 will look degraded qualitywise. also, the 300 has a leica lens, flash, no remote, and no widescreen mode. the best thing about the 300 is the OIS, its worth it just for that
oh ok well i didnt know cause from a review i read on like camcorderinfo.com which is usually really good they said there really wasnt much of a difference. But with the 180 im pretty sure you can turn the electronic image stabilization off. And you said that 300 has no remote, how is that a good thing?
i mest up i meant the 300 has a remote and widescreen mode wheras the 180 doesnt. and OIS is pretty damn important for filming skiing when ur moving, if u dont have it ur shots will be soo shaky
well it really doesnt matter to me if it does have widescreen mode or not because that reduces the sharpness and overall picture quality. But that other thing seems pretty handy. I gotta see what i can get through costco cause my friend's dad's friend is in costco or something and can probly get us the cam for the price they pay for it. So that's pretty sick.
