here is a few of my ideas.
1. put the pencil rail as an up rail.(any other flat rail would work)
2. an S rail
3. some sort of jib feature to stall on,jib off of ect.
4. try to use up a little more space in the park, i know things were pretty well packed last year but a few of the features could have wennt in the small park.
5. leave the street style rail from last year burried.
6. have a 2 or 3 part rail/box. example, have one rail/box going up then have one rail/box going down with a gap inbetween, or do a 3 part like a trap but with gaps.
7. not burry the c rail so much.
8. as far as jump go. pretty happy with last years turn out but might be able to put one more before the pencil like there was at the beginning of the season. (weather depending).
its just a few ideas i had going threw my head. they sounded good to me. let me know what you guys think of them.

a stair case setup would be dope
and if you had maybe a jump like last years in prety much the same place, and maybe if the pencil rail was moved have a slightly bigger one in place of that

multiply the vertical footage by at least 45, then add intense storm cycles, then add sweet rock bands and sprinkle a few cliffs in there. mix it all up and serve it with a side of back country booter.

a small set on/step off is super fun for awhile. I'm not gonna be at snowtrails at all, but those are fun little hits. A step over style jump. We had one in our park, and it was sick. you sorta land at your peak, so learning tricks isn't scary for the youngins. Like the JOI hit but smaller.

yeah the channel gap is a definate one i wanna look at. i wanna do a line of three hits, with various options available for differnet skill levels. first hit, fairly small, maybe 25-30 ft. that would come down into where highline was last season, with maybe a 40 ft table, as well as the option for a channel gap, maybe like 60 ft? theres most likely gonna be liability issues there thou. gotta look into that. anyhow, from the 40 ft landing, that carries down to where the step up was last year. stay to the right side of the take off, and its a very steep hip jump. to the left, and its a 60ish ft long tabletop. this way, you would have the option of going smaller for the beggingers, and still having some large hits in the park. i also wanna try anf get the other park taken more seriously, with some better jumps and some more features. i have some drawings ill post sometime tonight, im just super busy right now.

^ having a legit joey park is key. I dunno about at Snowtrails, but most parks have a plethora of joeys. If you make a good small park for them, they are less likely to venture into the big park, get in the way, or get hurt.

its all fun and games untill managment steps in and limmits your build time to two days in the begining of the season, then only gives one or two days outa the season to make major changes/fix ups with the cats... lets face the facts, owners and managment dont see terrain parks as a nessesity, all the money is made in ski school programs and the 65year old weekend worriors with season passes. the freestyle community only makes up a small fraction of passholders at least in the midwest. So you can see why managment and owners are resistant to pore money into cat hours, snowmaking, and terrainpark staff hours that are needed to build a good park. Building a good park is going to be a up-hill battle. my advise is get as much as you can done in those first few days of build, because it will be very hard getting those cats back in the park to make major changes. and remember that the cats can't do everything, the best and smoothest take offs are done with good ole' shovel and rake. see if you can get some of the trees cleared between the park and the lift, the vibe will be way better. when you watch your friends run on the way up the lift, you will feed off there energy, and like wise you have more fun on your run when people are watching you. those trees need to be cleared(not all of them) so you can see the park better from the lift. speed is an issue at ST, it is the midwest, i suggest makeing a very tall drop in at the top of the hill outa dirt. kinda like the one we had last year, but make it much taller and make it outa dirt. then when temps drop, just blow a gun on the dirt pile to cover it with snow.
good flow in the park is key!!! thats my advise and good luck this season snowtrails... -derrin

haha, i just learned last week they actually played music around there. im always rockin headphones. if you want some good comfy earbuds that wont hurt, and you can still talk, check out the Sony h.ears. they are 10 bucks, sound awesome (even compared to my 150 dollar ones), and are mad comfy. you can just hang them off your ears when your talkin with peeps.
and yea, some more lights would not be bad.

more lights would be hot. it sucks hitting a jump and not being able to see where in the fuck you are going to land, much less how many jimmyshooters you are going to land upon.

Lighting is key. Having a well lit park is sooo sick. And perhaps a wallride of some sort?

yeah deff no need to a park system cause that is just a waste of money that could be going to lights and hard features in the park.. plus 90% of the people in there ride w/ headphones anyway..
All times are Eastern (-5)
