however, the 914 is not a totally different binding. its the exact same housing as the old 912's. ti's were just a little lighter. however the 914 lab is different than the rest
the labs are all metal. They are designed to go on salomon race ski plates, but can be mounted seperatly. they also have a metal bar going down the bindings for a freeflex type deal, think atomic.
they also are going to meet the issue years fis standards for things like toe piece height, the freestyle is the same thing as a regular 9 series binding with a befyier spring. to my knowledge there are 2 versions of the 914, the standard 914 and the 914 FIS. there basicly the same thing, so i would just go with which ever is cheeper. and i havent used them but i would not reccomend the new z series binding, there basicly a little bit better c series binding, they are going to be even less durable that the 9 series bindings i believe. the onlt 9 series bindings i like are the 914 FIS, 916, and 920.
