I tired on both at the same time. Both comfortable, but i have a wider foot so the spk was the natural choice.

its really about the shape/width of your foot. i went with the SPK cuz my feet are wider, but i aso believe the SPK is a better boot if you want mainly park riding. krypton if you do park but also want to hit some powder and steeps.

Please people, do not think about this on the internet. It is not just a question about how narow or wide your foot is, and these are not the only good boots for park riding either. There are alot of things that go into a boot fit, like your arch for example. Also boots are not just wide or narow. They are wide and narow in different parts. And no one can tell you on the internet wich boots are for you. and most of these people could not tell you which boots were for you in person either. especialy not Heath that kids a fucking idiot.

aren't the krypton's like $900..maybe thats the krypton pro's, i dunno, i saw a review and they were $925 and the spk's were like $500...this doesnt really have any bearing on the quality of either boot but its something to take into consideration...is possibly extra quality worth $500 more?

they are both 400. you are thinking of the krypton pros, which were about 700 last year and are 600 this year. the spk is basically a ripoff of the rampage, so they are really similar. you have to just try them on somehow.

if the SPK is an improvement on the 1080 in materials/quality then try it out, but if it's the same wafer thin tongue then go dalbello.
i cycled through 3 sets of salomon boots for 3 winters and had mad shin bang. the tongue and padding compressed like fuck within the first month (skiing 5 days a week) and after that is was pain city.
got the dalbellos last winter and skied on 'em 5 days a week for the entire season and they are still like new. perfect flex, padding still pads, etc. twice the price of salomons (in france, anyway), but worth it.

the guy at my shop said they got so much shit in the boot underneath your foot you lose all feel for your skis, he did not recoment the salomon boots at all and told me that the kryptons were much better so i just got those and there real nice

yeah, i know the krypton is a 3 piece shell. i assume the spk is a 2 piece, which makes the fact that they have 2 buckles mind boggling.
here's the difference between the two:
2 piece shells flex essentially evenly in 3 directions, forward, left, and right.
3 piece shells flex differently in the same directions. fore and aft, they are relatively soft, depending on your defenition. laterally, however, they are as stiff as many top-end race boots you will come across, giving you the performance you need, but also the tongue softness that makes skiing park a whole lot more comfortable. plus, the dalbello comes with two footboards, one hard and one soft, and two tongues, one hard and one soft. so you can essentially switch the boot from a park boot to a backcountry charger in seconds.
i think you can probably tell which boot that i prefer.

they probably got, actually: skied the mojos for a few days in my quest to find a quality replacement for the pro-model and the shell/padding wasn't all that hot. actually felt a bit flimsier than salomon. they looked pretty cool, though, so if that's what you mean by dope, i'll give you it.
again, the dude above with the 3-piece vs. 2-piece explanation is right on. the dalbellos have an inherently different construction that is a class above the others, it's not just graphics/colours.
i haven't seen or used the new SPK, but as i said, if salomon has actually fundamentally changed the quality of the shell materials & padding, then it might be worth a shot. if they have just made it look more like the dalbello by going 2 buckle and painting it black/white, then go dalbello.

damn, thats weird, the mojos felt flimsier than solomon??? jeez when i tried them on they felt like a tank compared to the foils. i have had the grey 1080's and i mean they are alright, but i feel like salomon just doesnt have that high a quality of boots compared to others... but i guess i will see on the hill.

Both krypton and SPK are sick boots. Try them both and let the indivdual decide. I got the kryptons last year and love them. My kid has the SPK - they have all his previous years customizing - factory built in.

Dalbello. 3 piece construction. Best boot ever made.

i got the rampages, aka the kryptons, and they are with out a doubt the most comfortable boot i have ever worn. the flex is super smooth and the entire upper part of the boot moves with your leg when you flex so there is no space between your calf and the liner. i think it will be pretty damn hard to get shin bang with these.

the dalbellos aren't for everyone though(wide feet). but i have a super skinny foot, and finding boots that fit is a difficult task. mind you i haven't tried all the langes because the shop i work in hasn't gotten a new shipment yet, but i think that i'm still going to go for the dalbello. plus i can get them for 200 bucks. yay for shop-form.

is this the reason for two different numbers in the flex? The first describing the for aft and the second the lateral?
My Rampages did not come with two different foot beds, but My kryton pros, two years ago, did.

Salomon for sure, I have the salomons and there the greatest boots I have ever owned. Not even questionable. Dalbello's also dont bave as many flex points with as much stable flex. There confy without a doubt but if your in the park all of the time go for the spk's. Sick boot..
