Replying to Opinions Wanted (Chronic, Sprayer, Invader)
Ok, so I'm looking for a new pair of skis. I'm pretty much a park noob, so I definitely want something that will be able to handle the whole mountain, since that's what I'm used to doing. For the record, I'm 5'9", and 140 lb.
Since my local shop is having a big sale this weekend, I thought it would be a good time to buy.
Option 1: Invaders. This is what the sales guy suggested to me. I've been doing some research, but I never really came across this ski. Leaving the shop he almost had me sold on it, but I told him I'd be back tomorrow. Looks like this ski is not so good, eh? From what I understand it has delam problems and is an all park ski, which is not what I'm looking for.
Option 2: Scratch sprayer. This would be pretty ideal, I think, but I have no idea how it would compare to...there was also a Scratch Pro (used demo ski), which I didn't really look at as much as I should have.
Option 3: Chronics. I didn't really look at these much when I was at the shop, but I wish I did now. I don't know what size they are or the price, but I do remember they're under $325 with bindings. Thing is, they were demo skis. Any idea how hard demos get used?
So any thoughts/opinions would be good. What size should I be looking for? I basically want a good all mtn twin that'll help me get better in park.
