PE vs. Armada

OK, so i've paid for camp and a plane ticket, and also new boots and bindings, now it's time for new skis. I'm planning on getting the 179 PE for $349, but i realized how much money i still have. The armadas sound really sick, but they're $200 more. Is it worth paying the extra $200, or should i get the PEs?

i worked all winter, 3 nights after school and all day saturday. i don't have my license so i can't drive to go skiing, otherwise i would quit. (i'm only 15, but i'll be 16 on June 14).

has anyone ridden both of them? what's the major difference. is it a big enough difference that i should spend $200 more?

look, i live in wisconsin. we don't get all that much powder here. plus, the Armada 180 AR5s have an 81 mm waist, the PEs have an 80 mm waist.

well for one thing the pe is quite a bit cheaper, i'm pretty sure that 200 bucks extra for armada is name and cause they didn't make many skis this year

well any ski will last as long as you take care of them and don't fuck around with them, if you be a retard with them, than any ski will break after a certain amount of time

hehe, it's funny, the guy with the armada logo is recommending the PEs. interesting. i think i'll take your word and get the PEs, plus i'll have some extra $$$ for other THings

well they have the wood core so it should last a lot longer than some thing with foam like the 1080 but not the armada ar5 they use the same stuff as the scratch so either one if you take good care of it it should last you 2 seasons


why are doves the international symbols of peace? why not pillows? they have 2 times as many feathers and not that dangerous beak!

Well, as far as I'm concerned the PE's are great skis. They're super solid and feel very sturdy. I ride with Harvey a bunch and he loves his armadas too. If you can get the good deal on the PE's I say go for it. As far as I know both have good warrantys.

well armadas are ridicuously expensive right now, so i'd go for pe's if your on a budget and looking for a high quality ski

Aren't all armadas sold out? And there not being sold on e-bay or over this web site...so good luck getting a pair. Also the pe's are suposed to have a new graphic next year or the year after and for the same price as they are selling now, so you may want to save your money and get the new ones!?!

For the most part, all the twins on the market are of incredible quality (else pros would not be found riding K2, Line, Armada, Salomon, etc).

All things considered, I would rather save the $200 or so dollars (which can be used for other things) and order the PE.

Ski's break. don't expect them to last for 2 years. I don't think you could get armada's if you tried anyways. also, don't rule out the mighty troublemakers!

i have the PEs now and they fucking rule the only thing i dont like is the top sheet gets trashed cause its so soft

Yeah the top sheet on my PE's has some nicks and scratches but the bases and edges are still perfect.

yeah its where the wall and top of the ski meet its a super sharp angle and everytime i to crosses it gets them all fucked, i probably only care cause i just got them and absolutley love the ski

pe's are sick as hell, plus cheaper, and the top sheet isnt that big of a deal and its hardly noticeable. dont have armadas so dont know if i can compare them but i love the pe's.
