OK. So Ive found that on this forum there's a lot of talk about drugs. I see that a lot of you are of the mindset that drugs are the devil and that if you touch them you die or get addicted or your head explodes, whatever. Maybe this is because a lot of you havent tried them, or youre still young, or youve been brainwashed into being a tool of the American government (thats a joke-I dont want this to turn into a political debate).

I fully appreciate that there are drugs that are plenty worse than the others. But in MY experience, I have found that (like anything else in life), the amount you take and the enviroment you take them in is very condusive to the effect they have on you. If you take the right amount with the right people, drugs are awesome. They can be a lot of fun and a good way to have a blast with your mates.

Now Im not laying this down as a blanket statement, Im just putting it out there to see what you guys think of drugs in general and what youve experienced (NOT WHAT YOUVE HEARD OTHER PEOPLE EXPERIENCE!)

i dont do them any more, quite(spell check) bout 6 months ago

now i never by any means was a pothead smoked weed once in a while but some of the best times iv ever had i was high

on that same note some of the scarryest times iv had was after i smoked weed so kids jsut be carefull and be smart bout you drug use

weed helps me concintrate..like seriously if i have no motovation to do my hw ill smoke some weed and do all my hw and get it all right.and it helps me relax and it can be fun t chill with friends when im high..and trust me i dont really abuse the drug that bad..maybe 3 times a week.very light during the week just enough to help me do my hw and on weekends ill smoke a good amount. so weed is good to me

drugs are definitely a fun time if A)you're not just doing them to be cool and B) you use them in moderation. too much of a good thing can be a bad thing.

i duno dude. personally im not down with drugs...well thats a lie im down with pot. but only very rarely. the immediate effects of drugs are fun yes...but the long term side effects against your health can accumulate. now ive read that during the period of one month after smoking a good solid doob, your body has enough time to completely break down the THC in your blood and repair all the damaged lung cells. therefore, i am down with pot in moderation.

but thats as far as i would go. shrooms or anything chemically developped do not interest me in the slightest. this is where you start seriously damaging your brain and altering your personality. ive noticed a change in my personality from occaisional pot use. but now im starting to lay off it and im becoming more clear to the world.

now everyone has their own opinion on drugs...but this is mine. once im done college and have(if) a girlfriend with potential marriage...i wont be smoking pot ever again.

Im down with the whole moderation thing, but sometimes it can get out of hand. Personally, I dont do anything more than pot and the occaisonal drink, but other drugs, such as xtc, acid, shrooms and anything not too severe in moderation is okay. However, I have friends who are pretty heavy into some of this stuff and Im safe to say there not really going to make it far in this world, compared to what they could have achieved before experiencing drugs.

It's all about self-control. If you can handle doing it, you'll be fine and it's not a big deal. If you can't function while you're sober, then you have a problem. I watched one of my best friends go from an occasional pot smoker to rehab for coke addiction in about a year, but I also know some really cool people who do coke and acid every once in a while and are just fine. As long as you don't let it control your life there is nothing terribly wrong with drugs.

word to that, i  also dislike people who think if you use them, even in a heathy matter like the right place right time right people deal, you're a satanistic asshole who dosn't deserve an education, i shut those people the fuck up with any conversation i have with them because they don't know what the fuck they're talking about. you can do them, you can not, thats up to you, but don't hate on the peeps who do them in moderation, and just for fun.

(if sombody is accually dependent on them though, fuckin help them out, cause they can go down the wrong road with them if they arn't carefull, stay away from everything but weed and alchohol, anything else is what i accually concider to be a "drug")

i smoke soley to have fun. and i dont smoke that much anymore. like i used to smoke all the time and whatever, it was fun, but it changed me. i started treating everybody the same. like i treated my friends the same as my parents. like i would pick up my phone when it was my dad and was like "whatsup?" then i started to not get as high anymore. so now i only smoke when there is a reason to

i have nothing against people doing them in moderation but i see alot of kids that get into it just because other people are doing it. And its expensive and has long term effects. Maybe its just the age thing. When i was like 16 it wasnt nearly as common as now.

I don't really think thats true. I think the minority who dislike drugs just stick out because so many people on ns use drugs or say they do. Theres alot of young people on here so possibly lots of people who say they use drugs have never actually tried them and just say they have because they think they'll get respect if they have (as 12-14 yearolds do!).

I personally dislike drugs but Im chill if other people want to use them. Lots of my mates smoke, but it doesn't bring any difference between us. Im fine with them smoking and they're fine with me not. In saying that though I have seen a few of my mates who smoke start to loose intrest in university and grades start to drop. In the end though its just up to the individual.

i don't have a problem with drugs at all, i have decided to stop smoking weed by myself, only socially now. It's safer and a lot more fun

Fair call. But if there's people that are going to base what they do according to someone posting on an internet site, well, Id call them pretty fucking stupid.
BUT, I suppose that's what an internet forum is for (gathering information, sharing ideas, blah blah blah)

It all depends on the person. One person may do drugs their whole life, they will be succesful in everything they do, and you will never know that they are a closet drug user, cause they have so much self control. However, there are those who have addictive personalities, it doesn't matter whether it is pot, cigarettes, or meth. Once they use it they want more and more, and before long there life is consumed by their addiction.

I think drugs are something that many people experience, and there is nothing wrong with a little experimentation. But some people, because of the way they are wired, will never be able to stop at just experimentation. They get that taste, and that rush no matter what it is from and they can not control their desire to get more. These people should stay away from drugs entirely. And these people know who they are, so be true to yourself and listen to your body.

Everybody thinks drugs are harmless but they can affect you in ways you wouldn't expect. For instance, many people think it will never happen to them, but you can get a DUI being stoned. I know countless people who this has happened to. One day, they are enjoying life, being stoned, and the next they have no license, and no freedom. Now in the blink of an eye they are on probation under the control of the man. Anybody here going to College? Well if you get caught with posession there is a very good chance you can kiss that financial aid goodbye.

Sorry to be a downer, but I think if people decide to use drugs they should SERIOUSLY think of the consequences. There is more than meets the eye, and nobody wants to lose the respect of their friends and their family. So basically, just be smart people and be true to yourself.

BTW I am strongly pro-marijuana. I think that not only is it a substance that is safer and more enjoyable than alochol, but which the legalization of would have many positive economic benefits.

sorry but i don't share that view of drugs. personally, i do enjoy lighting up a joint as much as the next guy but chems are definately nothing i will put near my body.

honestly, why would you put something in you that was made (manufactured not grown) by some sketchbag in his basement using toxic chemicals. think about this, all it takes is that one hot dose that WILL kill you. the east end of the Greater Toronto Area saw kids and i mean 12-14 year olds taking EX and not living to tell about it.

i've seen coke cut with finely crushed glass, crack addicts twitching on the bus and heroin addicts puking in the corner of a parking lot because of their withdrawl symptoms. these people probably had the same opinion as you that everything in moderation is ok and now their lives are pretty much over.

if you're so concerned with getting high and experiancing new drugs, you really need to re-evaluate your life.

One more thing, I think it is great how passionate everybody on NS is about skiing. Skiing is putting your energy in a positive direction IMO. But as passionate as you all are about skiing, there are people that you probably know that are just as passionate about doing drugs. And, that is just stupid. If you are gonna experiment I can't stop that, but at least keep interest in skiing and your other hobbies. Don't become the person that slowly loses all interest in everything and exists solely to get high. So if you feel your life getting pushed in the wrong direction say FUCK THAT and go rip up the park, and use your short, limited life span in positive ways, like shredding the gnar.

I never stated that drugs are my total devotion or anything like that. And I fully understand, acknowledge and respect that they can have very harmful consequences. BUT, Im saying that I, PERSONALLY, have had some awesome times with drugs.
Im not going to revolve my life around them, as you have so badly misinterpteted, because I have other loves and passions, but I still enjoy them in moderation.

theres good and bad things about drugs, just like theres good and bad things about everything else in the world. but some of the most fun times ive ever had i was high. ex: the best concert i went to was string cheese incident at Red Rocks and i did a hippy flip (x and shrooms). it made the music so much better, the croud vibe was amazing, and it started raining on us and i was just having the greatest time of my life. BUT i dont plan on doing that again unless im at a concert like that and the oppurtunity arises.

You said it right: in the right ENVIROMENT and with the right PEOPLE drugs are not a bad thing to experience.

People turn to them too much just as a pastime or as a way to escape everday life. Moderation, of course, is key; and in the the case of drugs moderation is two-fold important.

This is so true man. i live really close to where he is from and i see a lot of this. I went to a high school that was 98% white, but still a lot of people were gettin hyphy. They walk around with their cartoon character backpacks, smackin on some gum, and ghost ridin the whip. I would say he is 90% percent of the reason ecstasy is so big in this area right now. i didn't know it was like that in other places too...

actually id say most of the drugtalk s for drugs, not against it. the 420 forum is the second lagest cult. id say like 85-90% of this site smokes weed. most of the people who dont just dont give a shit whether the other people do or dont

drugs seem like nothing but a good time, but there is some serious shit with them. i still smoke on Occasion, but there was a time when i was younger that i was totally addicted to it. if you think its not addicting, your very wrong. i was getting into all sorts of other shit, and almost commited suicide on shrooms (whatta fuckin crazy night that was). if you feel the need to expiriment, feel free. but keep it in moderation. and for the love of god, stay away from shit like X, DXM, C's, coke/crack, and narcotics. that shit will ruin you.
