Alright, so im real skinny and want a way to bulk up a bit for lacrosse in the spring. I just want to focus on my arms and my upper chest. I have a benchpress and some dumbells, so what are the best excersizes to do and like what weights should i use and like how many reps and sets?
you can't just focus on your arms and chest...that's called the "beach workout" and it won't work at all. Your muscles all work together as a system so if you're serious about putting on mass and developing a routine talk to someone you know who is at the gym all the time. You need to work your back, shoulders, arms, legs and chest for it to work and it will take a great deal of time...i can promise you that. But in the long run it will be very worth it and you'll feel great about yourself everytime you leave the gym.
yeah, i totally agree with you on working out the muslces and there supplements, but i dont really need to work out my lower body because i run and bike a real lot....so yeah, i and just looking for some simple exircizes that i can do for like 20-30 minutes a day
very good advice, a few kids on my football team just went to town on bench pressing and didnt do any back work outs and now their shoulders are pulled forward and they cant play cause they are so unstable
no wayyy i play lacrosse too, good stuff, yeah i should probly start training too, not that this helps u at all but my current workout consists of a 2 mile run, 50 push ups, 100 situps =) but actually not really now because i have xc and we run like a million miles a day for that so i dont bother with the other stuff
dude im in the exact same boat as you im playing defense and im the smallest defender so all winter during the week im gunna hit up the gym except for the days i ski
Eat protein. Lots of protein. You can try eating carbs before a workout (for energy) and then protein afterwards (to help build muscle). At least, that's what my soccer coach used to tell us when we had to bulk up a little
and if you just wanna put weight on do high weight low reps and do what everyone else said is good stuff just look up stuff online and remeber back and bis chest and tris works well biceps are pulling toward you body and triceps are arm extenion exercises i dont know if that helped but oh well
if you wanna work on abs seriously the best thing for it is an ablounge you can do sooo many at one time its not tiring it burns but never that bad i seriously did 200 in a night and one sit up on that is equivilant to one sit up on the floor
dude. go to a bodybuilding site and get a customized workout. then go to GNC or something and get a protien powder with like 40 grams or so of protien and drink it after every workout. and dont work out the same muscles more than twice a week!!!! in order for them to grow, they need rest!
ab lounge or any of that shit doesnt work. if you wanna gain muscle you needed resistance, and once your muscles can overcome the resistance you just add more. doing that ab shit and pushups will only get you to a certain point, and no where else. if you want good muscle fast, you gotta lift 3 times a week and eat 3000-3500 calories. drink lots of milk, drink it until you puke.
if you can get to a gym just find out what all the machines do. If you just have some equitment at your house go google a workout and do the upper body. You usually want to rotate muscle groups every day. Back/biceps, Chest/shoulders, legs/triceps. Also always do the larger lift before the small one...so bench before shrugs or biceps
