I actually cant think of a situation where a back protector woud help me in a crash in the park wo I dont know why so many people have them. The people who have them dont really know either, they just seem to like the comfort value of something thats supposed to help. Anyone got any ideas?
well lets see marc-andre is paralyzed waist down now because he hurt is back. i dont know the details of his injury but a backprotector in the BC could of saved him.
i broke my L1 vertibrae on a rail like 6 years ago. if i had a back protector on i would have got up and laughed about it and skied the rest of the day...... wait i did that anyways. then went to the hospital with a hematoma the size of a softball on my back. ever since then i wear a helmet
erm...no actually i usually land on my side. Im still not convinced. In the end theres a chance we could hit any vital part of our body why back protectors so big? When you think of the worst thing that could happen on a rail, you think of landing on your nuts but were not buying a box for ourselves...
seems kinda overkill unless you do mad crazy BC and shit. I can't wait to get one for biking though, I've started racing DH in college and falling on rocks and trees sucks balls compared to snow.
