Who's still rocking the original 1080's? (98-99)

I was finally able to add another pair of skis to my collection recently. I've been skiing on my original 1080's since February of 99 when I picked up the last pair from my local shop. I was just curious as to how many of you out there still have a pair of the yellow and blacks that they still ride. Skis have gone a long way in the past few years but my 1080's are still kicking ass.

thats sick that you still have those. id love to have a pair. however, if its your main ski, and still ridable after almost 9 years (now thats crazy to think about!), then you defntly dont ski hard enough, or they were made out of some space age material that never wears out or breaks. ive never had a ski stay ridable more than 2 seasons. even if your not hittin rails, the core wears out after about 3-5 normal seasons.

I am actually amazed that they have survived that long as well. I don't ski rails much. But they took bulletproof landings for many years in icy Minnesota, soft landings in Colorado and sliced up the wet powder out in Washington. They are going to be my backups from now on, but never put to rest.

I still have the Dynastar Concepts from 1999-2000ish. They get used everyweekend for teaching. Kids dig the cow on the bottom.

Skis are cheap, why would you use the same pair for so long?

Man that model of 1080 is pretty damn durable. I have a pair of the Vincent Dorion 1080s (the all white ones) that are still chilling in my closet, and they seriously look like they have not been skiied on at all. I might try to use them for urban or something.

You must suck at skiing, or just straight air 10 footers and don't hit rails...

And these skis were wood core to I believe, so to the above guy that said that these skis were not bulletproof doesn't know what they are talking about. No space frame foam core shit on mine.

no, that is just bullshit, all the skis from back then were built like tanks. The K2 enemy, Dynastar concepts........the company knew what the kids were gonna do with them, so they built them to last. Todays skis are noodle sticks to the skis, they might have great flex, and are light as hell....but they just don't hold up after years of abuse. I see kids with new skis all the time delaming, and busting edges....bullshit like that. My 1080s have held up.
