when you measure out true center do you include the lengths of the tips and tails or only the running length...on my skis the center of the entire ski and the center of the running length is diff so where is true center?

so do you bend the measuring tape to follow the curve of the ski, or do you just measure across leaving a gap between the tape and the ski?
