So im about a week out of surgery from having an acl reconstruction from a pattellar graft and this is my second one. The first one I started skiing again after about 5 and a half months and my surgeon is saying i can put the boots back on this time around after 4 months. So im way stoked about that but i'm a little skeptical. If anyone out there has started skiing again that quickly you should let me know how that went.

My mom tore hers skiing and It kept her out for half of one and almost 3/4 of another. but shes also older so she takes longer to heal.

Tore my ACL and meniscus. I was back skiing between 5 and 6 months, but that was the first time I injured it, plus i did a tonnnn of rehab.

ask for an invite to the ACL survivors cult. There are lots of stories and examples in there.

ya im gonna try and rehab the shit out of this one, shitty as it is it wasnt even the same knee. I did it on a box my roomates and I built in our yard and came off like a foot early on my feet but my left knee tweaked in and unfortunatley skis dont slide very well on grass

I was skiing well no brace after 6 months. I took physicall therapy very seriously with that goal in mind though.

yeh, i havnt torn mine, but i am a physical therapist, so i see plenty of them. Just be guided by your surgeon and your therapist and work your arse off to build up the muscles supporting youre joint capsule - cos that tendon gaft is never going to be as strong as the original ligament, so capsular stability and strength are key.
best of luck with it bro.
