Last week i finished my lifeguarding certification (nls) and instructor course. And today i got hired for being a lifeguard and instructor at a pool. I will work 4 days a week, for around 5hrs a day after school and im makine $15.00. Every two weeks when i get paid i get a 600 dollar check, its so sick. Im so excited right now to get some money comin in i am stoked. are anyone on ns lifeguards or have some sick jobs?
dude what city are you from? do you work for the municipal government or privately? you do realise you get paid seperate wages for instructing and guarding. i work with hte city of ottawa and i make 14.50 an hour instructing and 11.50 an hour guarding and for the notorious attending i make 8.75. also arent you unionized? so that means union deductions on your paycheque.
but aside from that...trust me man, from experience in multiple jobs, this is by far the best job you will ever have.
im from toronto and i work in south distict for the municipal government which pays the most out of any area in toronto. i believe i am making like 16 an hour for teachin and 13 for guarding, but it averages out to 15 an hour for the entire nite. and about the union thing i am in a union and i havent really paid attention to the deductions, i dont really care that much anyways, most of my friends are making like 8 an hour so its all good for me
didnt you say you were 17 and still in highschool? i recall seeing that somewhere...maybe that thread where you were concerned about your hair...i dont think you work 50 hrs a week man...
yes i am 17 and im out of school the 20th i worked $10 an hr 50 hrs a week in the summer and after october 20th when i get my ged ill be working same wage and in the spring i get a raise to $20 and im completely off the books so its awsome
Oh sweetie i'm sorry that wasn't very nice. congratulations, jobs are sweet, money is sweet, and getting chicks because you have money (or a 12 inch dick, in my case) is sweet too. happy hunting little lifeguard.
uhh yes bc i work for my brothers in construction and i choose to work 10 hrs over bc it pays good if u had the chance to make $500 a week youde do it to
I think i have you beat man $15 for ski lessons 16 hours a week mon thru thurs with fri to sun off to freeski but they pay check is only about 250 a week
yea the problem with that is you tend to get lots of old fucks and theyre the ones with highest risk of strokes n shit. the pool i work at is fairly large. it has one 50m pool (with diving towers and many diving boards) and a whole other section with a baby pool, 25m shallow pool and a hottub. it can be fun...yelling at the good lookin girls to jump off the 2nd tower when theyre sketchy...haha memories from the summer...
I work part time and very rarely at a seasonal job in a restaurant. The restaurant is in a huge fancy Guest ranch and we do a ton of functions. I get paid 8.65 and hour... but if you include the tips and gratuities that are automatically put on our paychecks, it rounds out to me making like 20.00 and hour. It's pretty solid. The workplace is awesome in general too, the people are seriously idiots:P The dishguy's b-day was the other night so we gave him a muffdiver at the end of our shift. I didn't know what it was then so of course I was the unofficial volunteer:S
I work at Harverys..really slack, like no work whats so ever. I get 7.50/hour. I was working 30 Hrs/week during the summer, but im on about 7-10 hours a week now.
Im at work right now actually. I'm on a workterm with Service Canada. I make $15 an hour. I'm basically marketing the Canada Education Savings Program and Service Canada's Online Services. It's decent. Lots of responsibility.
i've been working and living on my own since i was 18. just scored a supreme job at the law school here in town. livin and lovin the law is the way to go. muhahahahaha
Damn! ive been a lifeguard for 4 years and i only get 12 bucks an hour ( i dont do it much because it sucks now) but damn 15 thats sweet! its prob canadian.
Lifeguarding is a solid job, good money for minimal work. I teach archery in the summer at a day camp, its a pretty sick deal too. The best, though, is teaching private ski lessons - $16/hour to ski around with one kid.
Depending on who you work for as a lifeguard, and where you live, you can get paid tons... If it's for the government, or a private facility it'll depend. You can get from minimum wage up to about 25$ an hour.
