Death at Edelwiess

I just heard that last night somebody died at Edelweiss.
This is not to be taken lightly. They apperently hit there head
on a rock, or something. while skiing. -more information to follow

that sucks. a lot of people are dying at resorts the past few years...

well, dying or getting seriously hurt.

dude went down really bad at blue last night in the park.

Thats sad dude. Does anyone know if he was wearing a helmet. I hit my head on a boulder in Whistler and i was unconcious for 2 mins and got a narly concussion. its not fun. Pray for the kid who died because he'll be skiing perfect pow all day in heavin

yeah i heard about this, he hit his head on a rock, he was on a ski trip with his school, the poor guy was only like 14

He did not have a helmet on. He hit a little kicker type thing and lost control and hit a rock. (Edelweissers: it was at the 'bowl' on Zoomer (at the top).. he went off just right of where the quarter pipe will be and hit that huge rock sticking up in the middle of the hill to the right of it).

I know the ski patrol did everything in their power to help save him. Mad props to them.

yeah man. people who hit things outta their league.. i dunno.. this is why i totally aprove of what blue did.. though people may not listen to the course at least it was done. and you had to watch a video that made you realize what can happen... makes you think.. and some dude did it last night, to mike in the park at hockley.. guy smacked his head directly down on the ground. trying to hit the black box.. he was out of control and he was spitting blood and everything

A girl died night skiing at my local resort, Pomerelle, last week. It was her first time on skis, she just lost control, gained speed, and hit a tree. She was twelve years old. We watched as the ski patrol did CPR for half an hour before the ambulance showed up. It's made me a bit more thoughtful and cautious about skiing in general- this little girl who's never skied died on a green run..... what will happen to me one day on a double-black?

that is sad to hear. no one has died at my hill in a long time they have had to airlift people though.

yeah dying on a green really puts into perspective the risks taken by people on this site especially. We may be in control on the ground but when ur in the air anything can happen.

I saw a guy fall out of a chair lift yesterday... he was taken away on a strecher. On the ground I never have any problems but in the air there is so much chance for error...

ya, skiing deaths are tough, any type of death that can be prevented by simple precautions are hard on everyone... man that does make you think... last night i was skiin a great pow run that was closed, i almost hit a snowmaking machine... that woulda sucked
