i just moved here in may, and i just didnt believe how bad it would be, people told me.
some friends came to visit and we went to one of the only two bars in provo (sucky bar anyway), i had two beers and played pool for a couple hours. we get out and walk to the car i drive out past at least 4 cop cars, and at the first stop light i get pulled over for no reason, by not one but two cop cars.
sure enough they made me take all of the stupid sobriety tests which i dominated, i mean im a 200 pound 22 year old man, i can handle two beers (not even full strength beers, stupid utah)in a few hours. but no, i got treated like a complete criminal for having two beers. anyways, the guy says hes not sure i should drive and he wants to make sure.
calls his buddy who has a breathalizer, he comes over and hes like uhh did i do it right? do i have to push some button? he looks all dissapointed. nope the other cop says, thats it. i blew a .001 something. hes like well i guess your fine, and makes sure i get back in my car ok. he acted all dissapointed he couldnt cuff me for drinking beer.
this place sucks sometimes,i hate it when people judge me for having 2 beers with my friends.

Man, The whole cop situation here is beat. I absolutely hate the cops in SLC. They all suck. And seriously, the party situation sucks just about anywhere in this city it seems. Maybe i'm just used to home, where the parties were amazing.

you guys must have shitty luck. Ive lived in utah for 2 years now. Sense school has started ive managed to find a kegger every weekend. no run in with the cops, no huge all out ragers but deff some decent parties. University street has been slow this year though.
As far as cops ive been to two keggers last year that got busted and both times the cops let everyone go although ive heard of a few people getting fucked. so i guess sometimes its just lucky

The cops here are all total assholes, but its okay bacause they're all dumbasses too, so it's rediculously easy to get away from them.

HAHAHA!! PROVE!! that sucks your an idiot you should have consulted on NS before moving to that piece of shit part of utah. The parties out there are full of sprite and cocacola and the people dont know what alchahol is, they think caffiene is like being high. SLC is the shit provo is beat as fuck yo. Sandy is pretty much shit also but a liiitle better and a nice skatepark. to tell you the truth I am 14 but fuck that I know better than to move to pprovo. But your right the skiing is siiiick here.

Hah, you moved to Provo by accident.
I don't find the cops to be very bad here either. They hardly ever start writing tickets, or do anything official at parties. I think Hunter has the best story about that. They're pretty sympathetic to red light running/ stop sign coasting too (except motorcycle cops, they're all evil obviously)

Whatever, man, I got a $500 MIP because I had 1 glass of wine and blew a .002, and then when my car got stolen, they kind of blew it off.

Ayyy ohhh... burn!. But you're right. But i do work every day that i'm not at school, so i have to get up at 7 AM 6 days a week.
I should start partying more.

What kind of excuse is that? I had to get up at 5 a.m. for work 4 days a week last year, and I would dominate the beer pong table til 4 on Tuesday nights and then go do homework for an hour (claim). Sleep is a waste of time, why do you think they invented Red Bull?

Ive lived here for like 4 years and I've talked to police maybe once or twice over speeding but other than that no incidents, but then again I'm not a stupid criminal.

i dont think anyone understands us when we say there is no party scene, AT ALL compared to the rest of the world... people who grow up hear dont realize it untill they go to another college campus... i dunno... it a choice all of us have made, i guess we gotta deal with it..

yup. u can can find ur parties, BUT compared to other college towns, slc doesnt throw down.relatively speaking, slc parties aren't up to par. that's the thing so many people grow up here and arent exposed to other places, so they dont know any better. then again, i'm here for the snow so i'm over it.

1) Everyone is right. Provo is the eigth ring of hell.
2) Everyone is right. SLC and surounding areas are better and more diverse (at least by Utard srandards).
3) If you don't want to get busted by the Man for underage drinking, get a fake ID. No excuses. Time to grow up and play with the big boys kiddies.
4) You're all wrong. Utah sucks, I'm following Dumont to Florida!

Haha.... Indiana (where I'm from) campuses have the most absurd parties ever. What else is there to do when you put 40,000 people in a small town, with no recreation things.. ALLLLL you do it PARTY, and it's sick.

the cops here rock. unless you are mexican. no offense to mexicans they just seem to get harassed the most. we partied every tues night this summer with the garage door open on a main road in SLC beers everywhere and people smoking and no one ever came and said a word. we even passed out and left the garage door open alllll night with the music blaring and no issues.
and yes it is your own fault for moving to provo. why would anyone move to provo? and if you moved to utah to ski why would you move here in may? I think the season starts in November usually. but i dont know i'm not very bright because of all the partying i did all off season with no issues from Po-Po's.

...Unless your car is black. I'm teaching those fucks one by one not to mess in the parking lot. I almost tagged one today but the sneaky little shit can weave through the spots on his bike better than I can in a car. If everyone does their part to "discipline" them then they may start to respect our right to park where we please.

i have never been arrested here*knock on wood*, god knows i should have gone to jail multiple times by now. i have been treated VERY kindly by the police in my time, and have been let off for underage drinking at least a half a dozen times, and been let off for more serious things too. most of my interaction with cops has been good, except at Hunter's house when dylan and friend got arrested for nothing, which was the gayest thing i have seen in utah.
