It's a 3 month study abroad program on a cruise ship. We go to Japan, China, Hong Kong, Vietnam (where I am as I type this), Myanmar, India, Egypt, Turkey, Croatia, and Spain. Unfortunately I haven't had time to get any riding in, we only get about 5 days in each port so it's tough. I get back in December just in time for the season though which is nice. Glad you enjoyed!

that's awesome, i would love to do something like that.
one of my brother's friends go to mass maritime, and all the freshmen load up onto a ship and go to europe for like 4 months. Not quite a cruise ship, but i guess his friend actually got to control the ship for a bit which i thought was cool.

I heard about that semester at sea thing on discovery channel because one of those ships got caught in a nasty storm. Students and tables alike were being tossed around the ship like bouncey balls!

Alright to answer a few of the questions posed...
Yes it's expensive...about $20k...but it's worth 10 times that...priceless in fact. Yes I've met tons of great people on the ship from all over the world, I have connections with people from each state in the U.S. at least. No other cruise allows you 5 days in each port you visit. I seriously can't say enough good things about this experience, it's life changing and I'm creating memories that will last my entire life. The world is a beautiful, interesting, depressing, and exciting place, I highly suggest you do whatever you can to see as much of it as possible. Live it up folks! Anyways, if anyone has any more questions about SAS or any of the places I've been, feel free to shoot them at me and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Currently I'm writing a bitch of a paper when all I can think about is how we're getting to Myanmar in a couple days (oh and the 70% female population on the ship is a bit distracting too.) Keep it real.

Oh yeah, forgot to answer one question. We're going to Istanbul, Turkey. Theres lots of trips going to other parts of the country but I've heard Istanbul is a place that needs weeks to explore in itself so I'm gonna stick around there.

Yeah Istanbul is pretty sweet. I was there in May. The Bleu Mosk, the palace and the Hagia Sophia are beautifull!! But after 5 days u get crazy and wanna leave lol!! But i guess when u have travelled already so much and know these overcrowded cities u dont mind it i guess...
