you will feel sick, puke, have blurry vision, and have trouble remebering simple things. It all depends on how severe it is.

Im just getting over post concussion syndrome. I got it form being knocked out twice in two months. Basically it is a bruise on your brain. thats how the doctor explained it to me. I had to have a ct scan to make sure my brain wasnt bleeding. I got really bad migraines everyday for a long time and my vision would go blurry I would drool from my face going numb and sometimes I wouldn't be able to walk straight. Im good now though. The funniest part of a concussion is when your pupils are all fucked up looking. haha

I just got my EMT-B certification. I'm gonna be a first yr. ski patroller at Copper this year. I think everyone on the site should know some basic patient assesment skills so I'll be happy to share my knowledge with you all. plus it'll help me practice a little.
the way to assess the severity of a head injury is to first ask the person if they know their name, then the place where they're at, then the time, and the event of the injury. If the person can't remember their name, it is very severe and they should be rushed to a hospital. If there is no memory loss at all, no worries. But any head injury could potentially be life threatening so keep that in mind and be carefull out there.

headache obviously, plus sensitivity to light, and nausea are symptoms of a light concussion. bigger concussions can involve some slight memory loss, as well as a feeling of bewilderment. i know when i had my big concussion, i felt like i was in a dream, it was the weirdest thing.

This is how you tell: You hit a jump, land, then your friends rides up to you and tells you you've been passed out in the snow for 20 minutes. That and you feel like throwing up, the sun gets really bright, and you don't remember where you parked your car.

I blacked out and I forgot an entire day, but that was the most severe concussion possible (without coma of course). Ya so I just laid at the bottom of the jump for a while I guess until someone came by and peeled me off of it.

i've had a few instances where i thought i had a concussion. one was in a hockey game and i got completely leveled. it was a really really late hit and i had no idea it was coming, kind of from behind. i slammed my head in the ice and laid there for a good 10 seconds and then tried to get up. i had a rediclous head ache and couldnt skate straight. also, my vison was blurry and i was pretty nautious.
another time was when i was skiing and a snowboarder fuckin hit me. it was my fault though. there was a ridge and i skiied across it slowly so i could wait for a friend on one side. it was a open groomer. before i knew it, didnt even see it, i was like 3 feet in the air, laying horizontally. apparently i blacked out since i didnt remember being hit or being in the air. i laid theyre for like 15-20 seconds and woke up questioing my friends why my skis and poles were like 20 feet away. my friend was luaghing cause i just got leveled so hard haa. then i see this snowboarder thats apologizing. so i say im ok, even though i dont even know what happened. again i had a really bad headache and blurry vision. i didnt throw up either times though.

depends what they ask you, last time they asked me what fields i was at, and i reconized it so i knew, and what team i was playing, ( i didnt remember but i saw one of the other teams players and reconised the jersey) and if i was starting or not and i saw my other prop and he turned around so i could see that he was wearing a sub number, so i was starting. If they ask you to count back from 100 by 7 or backwards alphabet or something, then hopefully someone helps you or you can convince the trainer your good.

I got a concussion two days ago. It wasn't horrible, but it was bad enough to sideline me for the next game and it takes a lot to sideline me. In fact, this is my third day of the concussion and I feel like absolute trash.
