hey guys I am pretty much all park and rail and im getting new skis i was wondering should they be sharpen and if so how oftern?? is it better dull? thanks for the help
i find its sooo much easier to ride freestyle with failry dull edges, cuz A: the rails will mess them up anyway even if you try to sharpen them and B: if u mess up a landing on a rotation its easier to get away with it with dull edges cuz you dont catch in the groun. if you dont believe me try it urself and see.
Yo, dull the edges before you even touch snow. If you plan on sliding any rails, trust me, do this. Rather than fresh edges catching on rails until they get dull, and breaking them, you file the edges down so they don't even have a chance to grab, which keeps them from breaking faster.
definitely tune them down underfoot. take like a file file and just scrape that metal down, dont just dull them, but really get them round and stuff. its nice and buttery and also your edges are less susceptible to cracking and shit
I dull the tips so that they don't catch and it's easier to come out of turns. I've been thinking of dulling the edges underfoot for jumps, but so far, I only detune the tips... then again, I don't do rails.
