College easy?

Anyone else besides me think that college hasnt been that hard yet? I dont know why but I really havent had that much hmwk, i never have class before noon , and Ive only had 1 test. I keep waiting for it to pick up but it hasnt yet. Am I the only one?

yea, it seems reaally easy to me, i expected much harder, im sure it will be rediculous though. the longerst paper i  have had was 500 words... pretty easy. its like high school classes, just less and its easy. im sure it will be like 20 page essays and reading a ton. Reading has been a lot though, its like 100 pages in two nights. not that bad though

It totally depends on the college you go to and your major. Someone studying chilhood education at like UVM or a garbage SUNY school is obviously gonna have less work than a mechanical Engineering major at Clarkson University (Small technical school if anyone doesn't know). But in the end the person who is working harder will most likely make more money. I saw most likely because 90% of getting a good job after college is who you know. So you'll get out of it what u put into it.

How about a mechanical engineer at a large (ivy) research university?

Seriously, anybody who thinks college is easy needs to taste a real major for a bit.

Engineering / Math / Science, all others? See you in grad school while we actually get paaaaaid after 4 years.

Word. Technical degrees like engineers, chemists, accountants etc. are gonna have a much harder work load. Basically most science majors (medical), and shit where you have to take high level math is gonna really suck. But, on the same token, engineers make the most cash out of college of any other major besides maybe finance majors who get hooked up on Wall Street. Also, I hear architecture degree work loads are fierce as hell.

So if you don't have much homework so far, that is because your homework is that you should be studying pretty much everyday. if you want to do really well on your exams, you pretty much have to study unless you are really smart and just go to all the lectures. This is my experience. Also, it really sucks when you procrastinate all semester and don't do shit, and then you have 2 term papers and 3 finals in the same week.

At times college is easy, and at times difficult. The longer your there the harder it gets, in the first couple years its usually pretty chilled. And it has more to do with the teachers than the class or major, I've been in the same classes as my buddies but with different teachers and they get 30page papers, tests every other week and tons of hw and reading, and I got two tests, one 5 page paper and no homework. Check out www.ratemyprofessor.com That site will help you TONS in college. And dont get too relaxed because on minute its easy and then out of no where work piles up beyond reason.

I have tonssss of reading and a 200 word paper 3 times a week. And this is my first term. It really isn't that bad though, I know it will get harder. It is nice having trimesters, only 3 classes a term, but i do get out around june 5th. It REALLY depends where you go though.

im a sports medicine major and i havent had too bad of a work load...i also went to a pretty hard high school but i think my college is easier then high school but i know next year my work load goes up a ton and im basically gonna die oh well thats about all i got on college

Yeah I agree with most of what the other dudes in thread are saying. I'm a microbiology major and minoring in chemistry and I'd like to finish my certificate in christian history. I'm currently busting my ass like a motherfucker here at the university of pittsburgh. I'm pretty confident I'd like to be in dental school when I graduate.

I'm a sophomore. This semester I have 16 credits. Organic Chemistry Lecture, Organic Chemistry Lab, Brain and Behavior (neuroscience course), Animal Behavior (bio course), Origins of Christianity, and Foundations of Athletic Training.

I have to write a 10 page lab report every week for Organic Chemistry Lab. If you can only imagine how much that licks my nuts. Next week I have 4 tests and a quiz too.

I have class every single day of the week, and have to get my ass up for 9 am every morning except tuesday... thats my 8 am o-chem lab.

College is all what you make of it. It depends on what you are studying and of course the university that you are attending. If you think it's easy you need to try something a little harder perhaps.

i'm in first year engineering at ubc.

i have 18 credits in each semester.

from what i've heard, first semester is supposed to be like high school, and second semester is supposed to be absolute hell.

calculus is hard (i've got no calculus background whatsoever).

i should have done my physics assignment, instead we celebrated the birthday of a guy on my floor by going to every room that was open (14) on the girl's floor above us and making him chug a beer.  he then took a shot of rum, a shot of tequila, and a shot of vodka.  next, he joined our floor advisor in chugging a beer.  last, we had shotgunning practice for the whole floor in our floor lounge. all in about 35 minutes.

freshmen year wasn't too bad because it's mostly intro classes and stuff. but you have to do the work. sophomore year had its moments. junior year is where it starts to get hard. i've been a senior for about a month now and well, i've pretty much reached hell. i couldn't even imagine the workload science majors have to go through.

just wait a bit. if youve got nothing on the go now, watch out, in november everything will be happening at once. 5 essays probably each 10 pages long, finals around the corner, then the going isnt so easy. Im a 2nd year political science major and thats how it felt last year, and looks like itl happen again. But it really does depend on your major

i've had tons of work, but for ppl who havnt had much to do, i heard that everything goes down at the nd of the simester such as exams and projects and it counts for a high percentage of your grade

I only have class monday wednesday friday, but those days i have class from 8:45-130ish. I don't mind though. I always have a hard time staying completely awake though. college is pretty sweet though, so much fun

depends on the school, course and the students learning habits.

Last year I went to Simon Fraser University.I took an intro to psychology hoping it would bring up my GPA..

fuck it was the hardest course of my life test were insane and huge ass assignments. The prof was the biggest dink I've ever had as a teacher.

My sister is now taking the same course at a communtiy college. She brought home her test the other and I took a look at it was twice as easy as any of tests I wrote and she only has to write 2 all semester and one assignment.

It kinda pisses me off that my tuition was more, travelled and paid for res to go a unversity when really there's no advantage of it.And in the long run my sister will be able to transfer and her gpa will be better then mine because the college had less higher standards then mine.

And when I hear some of the grades some of the people I graduated with (really not that smart of people) who chose to attend community college. It makes me so mad, cause not to sound rude but I know theres no way they could have gotten those grades at uni.

My sister is taking Early Childhood Education at a small community college in Northern, BC and has a crazy workload. Not only do they have to do 500 hours of practicum work experience, but she has a load of assigned reading and homework every week. At the same time, her boyfriend is at the same college training to be a Chef and he has maybe an hour of homework each night. It really depends on the course and the school.

Last year I took Business Administration at the above college. I feel like a learned alot (forgot a lot by now), but the workload was so tiny. I'd get together with my group for our projects and we'd do jack shit, just talk about partying and asses. This year, I'm taking Graphic Design and the homework is intense. Last week, I had 6 projects on the go, this week I've got like 8. I spent the entire weekend (for me; Sat, Sun, Mon) working on a single project. It's pretty intense.

At the same time, a friend studying to be a physiotherapist spent 9 hours straight doing homework.

College was easy last year, easier than high school at least, but this year it's nuts.

College seems real easy during the week because I don't do anything and then like Sunday hits and I'm like "Fuck. Today is gunna be the worst day of my life." And it is, and then the rest of the days are easy as hell again.

See I think you have a bad attitude about it. That physcology class your sister is taking a community college is extremely easy. As are a lot of community college courses. But you have to remember, she is going to get a fucking rude awakening when she goes to a real university.

My mom did that exact thing. She went to a community college for 2 years then transferred here to the University of Pittsburgh where I go now. She graduated from Community College with a 3.8 GPA and the whole deal and thought it was a joke. She made deans list every semester. When she got here to Pitt she was about to go insane. She struggled to maintain a 3.0 for this scholarship.

Keep in mind Pitt is a pretty good school. It all depends on where you are transferring. But just remember you get out of you education, what you put into it.

im a Junior at a shitty school and my first 2 years were a joke. Way eaiser then highschool. However, junoir year is where it is starting to pick up. I havent done anything over ten pages but now I am starting a 40 page paper. Fucking sucks

Im at cambrian.... for automotive....pretty easy......got 19 hours a week......no homework. I had a few tests, but they were butter. I have to start on my independent english soon though.

I take 7 classes this semester. I do a minimum of five hours a homework every night and more on weekends. Last week i had 4 tests and a report. I have to wake up at 6 every morning. During the week i go on 5 hours of sleep at the most. I have to bust my ass to get it all done. the content isnt all that much harder than high school its just that we cover so much more in a shorter amount of time and much more is expected of the student to learn the material than the teacher. This is just my experience though. I am a freshman, we started classes 8 weeks ago. Im sure its different when you get into a hard major (ie. any engineering). the material will be new and they will be flying through it. High school is pretty much a joke compared to college.

just wait till ur a sr. i managed to get al the wya through college without reading a single book or text book...and i have a 3.3 GPA....and all of a sudden its my sr year and im like whoa whats with all the work...and im only taking 3 classes and doing an internship. so ye ait deends on your classes and stuff. enjoy it tho! its not always like that!
