i am selling my bike. its a sad day, but im very short on funds, and with the ski season approaching, i wont be on it very much anyway.
it is a 2003 Mountain Cycle Rumble, black, size medium. overall, the frame is in good shape, regular scratches from normal use. the only other "damage" to the frame is 3 small dents on the monocoque gusseting around the headtube, from the fork stancions. it is 100 percent cosmetic, and is not anything to worry about.
the Fork is a VERY well maintained 2003 Marzocchi Jrt. the oil and seals have been changed on reular bases, prolly 4-5 sets of seals in thier lifetime. this fork is of a much higher quality than newer, cheaper Jrts, with the super hard gold stanchions (no scratchs), and adjustable SSV cartridges. I have honestly had people who ride monster Ts and Shivers say this fork felt just as good. the older Jrts were great forks, unlike the new all black ones. the lowers have been stripped of paint and polished. it looks awesome with the polished crowns, a very clean racy looking fork.
the wheelset consist of Ryhnolite XL rims (painted gold) laced to ringle sealed bearing hubs. they are very strong wheels, and have held up to alot. the rear wheel does have a minor flatspot. mounted on them are 2.7 Kenda kenitics and 2.35 (very wide thou) IRC Kujo DHs. i have tried various setups, and these tires work great together. there is still plenty of life left in both.
the rest of the build goes as follows:
brand new SRAM cassette, 9 speed
Race Frace Prodigy DH crankset, 22/34/bash, fairly fresh rings, Wellgo sealed bearing, replaceable pin concaved CNC'd Pedals
SRAM X7 shifters Titec Ringleader handlbar (love it, HUGE and very strong)
ODI grips, pretty new
FSA Pig DH steel headset
Now, i have ridden this bike once this season. unfortunatly, i ripped the rear derailleur clear off, so this bike needs a new hanger and a derailleur (X7-X9). those parts can be had for 50 bucks easily. the other thing to note s this bike has 2 different brakes on it. the rear is a brand new HAYES HFX nine, the front one is an OLD hfx Mag. i have a set, but the rear one is unfortnatly not working (master cylinder). i was in the process of strippng and polishing them, but i got distracted, so they are still unfinshed.
if you do not want the front brake, i can take 30 bucks or so off the sale price. if you want the matching rear brakeset, its yours for an additional 20 bucks, but it may not ship out at exactly the same time as the rest of the bike. they are awesome brakes, and i would love to see someone fix the rear one and ride them, as i really do think they are nicer than most of the newer stuff out now. but thats your call. just wnted to make that option avialable.
other than a couple new parts, this bike is ready to rock and roll! its a termendously solid bike, and it rides phenominally well. on tight twisty singletrack DH stuff, this bike is way faster than most big FS bikes. then only areas i find it gets bogged down are the real Nasty boulder gardens, and even then its fairly comfortable. i really do love this bike, and hate to sell it, but with school and skiing, i just cant afford to fix and ride it. YOU WILL NOT BE DISSAPOINTED!
