Quicktime help!

i have a couple movies i want to watch with quicktime, and it won't let me. I've downloaded quicktime 7 twice already. it says I need some sort of component, and gives me a list of like 20 from their site. Should I just download all of them?

itd probably be easier just to convert the files to a type that your quicktime can play

If I click on them, they show up as quicktime, but then nothing shows up.
