ever take the time to reflect on railing skiing? there is only so much skiers can do, and the only progression left will have to tap into rollerblading for inspiration.
i guess that makes sense, but its just so darn fun that i dont see it stopping any time soon. maybe when we put progression before whats really fun, but is that a good thing?
i agree about the "you realy never know" but have you noticed how the videos lately have moved from the park to out of bounds backcountry jumps, ? so he does have a lil point but thats the only way i can try to back the kid up
there is always going to be more to do. saying that there wont be anything else to do on rails is the same thing as there wont be any more air tricks to do. ppl have new ideas everyday, whether its in the air or on rails.
rails are fun but not asthetic (xscuse the spelling) it just looks wak on tape. only 2 mabey 3 guys i can think of throw ill rails and make it look real nasty.
buddy, railing is progressing like mad, think about it, a couple years ago the same thing was said, and now we got wilson pulling fucking mistys of them, people pullin 810..rail skiing will never die, people just have to get creative
Do you really think that people are just going to stop doing new things
on rails just because it's hard? People are already realising that
there is more to do on rails than spin on and switch up, and it's only going to keep evolving.
i have an idea, rail skiing will die out the day the east coast starts getting snow in september that lasts until july and all of our 'mountains' grow an extra 2000 ft.
saying skiing takes rail tricks from blading is like saying snowboarding is unoriginal because they take snowboard tricks. who really cares who we take are tricks from.
the fact is that all sports, or sports where creative expansion and progression is possible, or maby just any sport where you can do tricks and create tricks, they all feed off each other for inspiration, so skiing wont just feed off rolerblading, it will feed off everything, and everything will feed off it
rails a fad? im sorry, but you are completely blind. i seriously cannot believe you would say there is nothing left to do! i hinve mountains of new tricks to try on rails this season. and rollerblade stuff is for sure the direction its goin, at least thats where most of my insperation has come from. if anything, id say most stuff has been done on jumps. however, does that mean its gonna be a fad? jumping skis is and has always be fun, and people will always add thier own style to it, and it will always be a staple of the sport, just like rails.
true but urban rails have also taken a large jump foward with bc jumps........ and also, i think that talking about progression in skiing is kind of silly because how could you predict??? and why would you want to
it seems like rails maily are based on spinning. like people are cork 810-ing onto rails but theres only three comon slides. nosepress, tail press and regular. i guess 50-50 too. but then there are lipslides and stuff so yeah.
people will ski rails for a long time but I dont really like watching them anymore, theres too many of them in a lot of ski movies and they start getting repetitive for me
rail skiing wont ever go away...its fun...jumps wont ever go away...they're fun...skiing wont ever go away...its way much fun.. with all these powers combined..i grant you the best sport ever
man i like boronowski's skiing but it seems whenever i hear somethign he said/did, im very unimpressed.
"rails are just a phase"
are you fucking kidding me?
