good rig for mostly urban biking with the occasional dirt jumping / trail ride? or should i just go for a straight up trials bike? the only problem is i don't want to limit myself to strictly that type of riding..
yeah its either a dj3 or pro.. whatever it is, its got 100mm travel, which i feel is sufficient. i'm just not 100% sure if this is the type of ride i should go for. the geometry looks good, so i think it's either this or a p2, but i want to stay away from the straight up shorecross or whatever they're called bikes like the sasquatch / kona stuff because i dont think they'll support what i want to do. they're also pretty heavy from what i hear. i just want an idea of what to look for considering i'm gonna be riding mostly urban with the occasional trail / long distance ride. and i want to stay away from bmx too..
what are you talking about a trials bike for then in your frist post? did you mean trail bike? It looks like a good bike for what you want to do. The only thing I'd
suggest is that you single speed it if you sticking to dirt jumping and urban.
Sorry I didn't see your last post, so I'm guessing you ment trails. 100mm travel might bottom out on you depending on your weight and what your doing, but all forks are different in their stiffness. The k-radd tires are mainly for urban, but I ride a bike with them moslty dirt jumping and the hold up nice. If you go on a long ride just put up your seat higher and you should be set.
^Not really, it depends on the stiffness of the forks. I haven't riden DJ 3's personally, but from what I hear they are decent forks. I have riden DJ 2's though and they were pretty solid. Plus I don't think you need full suspension unless your downhilling, but thats just me. And he said he's looking for an urban bike. If you want people who know more about biking, I would ask a biking website, such as www.pinkbike.com
^Single speeds aren't bad for long rides either as long as you have a
good gear when you get one, and you put your seat up before the ride so
you can actually straighten out your legs and sit down.
