I am studing abroad in Budapest, Hungry this semester and its been an absolutely crazy time. We live about a mile from the parliment building and right now there are are 50,000 people gathering. We walked by quickly and it is pretty mellow right now but the mentality is that something big is going to go down tonight...

Fucking nuts.

Just got back it is 1 am here. The riots are more of a protest now but there are so many people and so many cops it is pretty insane.

No, last night I had my video camera out and was running with the police/AP.  I have some fucking insane video, i will try and get some up soon.  so far it's been laregely non violent (apart from people throwing shit at the police and the police shooting tear gas)... But ya, expecting this to continue for a few more nights, a few protestors suggested the next few nights may get more violent though, so I don't think I'll be running around with the press if that's the case (I mean, they did all have helmets on last night...).

Everyone I've talked with who finds out I'm American tells me we need to do the same thing at home... and I completely agree.  Shit needs to change in America, that is for sure.  Maybe Bob and I can show people how it's done.
