Wtf is with my ipod??

i just got a new 30g ipod and it says i put 204 songs on there, but under capacity it says 27.8g, and available is 26.8. wtf?? so ipods really arent 30 g, they're 27.8. fucking bullshit apple.

it's because memory increases exponentially (i.e. 2^6=64 mb), therefore you can't have exactly 30gb. it's the same with all harddrives.

30 gb isn't 30,000 mb. its really 30720 mb, so you can have exactly 30 gb.

they advertise 7500 bc if each song you have is 3 min then it will fit that many songs. they use 3 min as an average length for a song. so if you have songs that last longer then 3 min then it will take more hardrive and not be able to hold as many songs. not that hard to comprehend

I have a 80gb hardrive on my Powerbook, but when I look at the how much it holds, it says 78 or something like that. So stop compaining, millions of people have the same thing.

all hard drives are like that. They can't make drives things exactly 30 gb but they can make it close so they round.
