Road Test

I thought I'd make thread. I never used the search bar, so shoot me, but I have some questions and something new to contribute.

We've all heard the obvious, make it obvious that you are looking around, check blind spots, turn into the nearest available lane on a one way, you know. Recently my mom talked to an examiner in WI, and he said something I didnt expect to hear. "If you bring the biggest SUV you have, they wont make you paralell park it" I take that to mean that anything Excursion size, stuff like diesel trucks, that wont fit into the parking spot. I'm not entirely sure who all goes by this, but I asked my behind the wheel dude once and he said its very possible.

So theres my shit, now I need some tips from people who've passed or failed. What do you need to know really well, what doesnt matter? I take in a week and I dont want to fail.

starting off by what state your in might help your chances alittle bit. but mostly just stay calm, and just do that same things that you have been doing in driver ed. as long as you have done it before you should be fine, just don't panic. oh and if you have been driving for a while, ie. w/ your permit. don't get cocky on the test, do everything by the book. i went off and dipped into some of my bad habits, or shortcuts on my test and failed it the first time (iv had been driving for 3 years already by then) so just keep it cool and you will be allright

i would bring the smallest car i could get like a mini or something so it is easy to park, what if they make you do it with the suv, that would blow asss and you would end up paying for the car you fuck up

I live in MN, and I have to paralell park a Checy Tahoe, so yeah...

colorado they dont make you parallel park at all

In NZ we can drive with 15 ;)
My friend hit the car in front of him parallel parking, and still passed. Apparently you're allowed 'two mistakes' hahaha

as said, just bring the smallest car you can. it would totally depend on who is administering the test if you had to parallel park with a large SUV or not. but since it is part of the test... you would probably have to. just dont worry. if you are concerned about parallel parking or some small shit, then perhaps you gotta work on your driving a bit eh?

Well, since I take it tomorrow, bump. I drove randomly around town for a little under an hour today and I'm relatively confident. If I remember to look in my mirrors, I should be ok, even thiugh I'm not too sure about the paralell park, I did practive the 90 degree backup with some sucess. I'd still like some pointers on what they watch for and such. Any extra points help to offset my flunking the parking.

What about the three point turn? We never heard about it in drivers ed but its all over the internet. Does MN require it?

drivers test is so fucking easy its a joke. paralell parking is easy too. idunno the big deal.

most of the time they won't make you paralel park during the test
a word of advice though
some road teacers are really laid back but i had a friend who failed before she got started
because she didnt ask if everyone had their seatbelt on
just ask just in case

Road Test in Wisconsin is super duper easy.

I paralell parked right off the bat in the DMV parking lot, and that was the hardest part, everything else is jsut really easy, so is paralell parking if you practice up.

Im so happy i took my road test in the midwest and not the northeast, the roads here are wide open, and traffic rules are easy to follow

Just pretend you're 80 years old during the test and you'll pass with flying colors. Stop a little ways behind the line at stop signs, drive exactly the speed limit or under, and don't hit the curb when you parallel park. I don't know anybody who missed a point on the driving test, if that's an indication of how difficult it is.
