first off i just have to say why are people argueing which is better we share the same fucking mountains for gods sake pretty much well lets hear what you have to say about the 2.
I'm going to have to disagree with you on your point about sharing the mountains. I'm pretty sure the state borders make a geographical statement as to where the mountains lie. But as for which is better, that's all opinion. I prefer Utah, but Colorado is still incredible.
silverton, crested butte, steamboat, telluride, and vail kill pretty much any utah resort for bc and pow. keystone, breck, aspen, and vail are much better than any utah park ive been to.
dude alta dosent compare to silverton or crested butte, yes i have been there, its pretty damn good, but not good enough. and i havent been to park city, but still you cant beat breck, keystone, vail, and aspen. all like 30 minuites away from eachother at the most, except aspen, thats like 2 hours away.
i know i said i love you. but you are wrong. there is nothing subjective about this. utah fucking rapes colorado. have you been to park city's park? it shits on vail's, aspens, keystones, or brecks. i have skied at all four resorts you mentioned, and they are nothing to write home about. breck does have a good park, yes, and silverton is epic. you obviously haven't skied face deep powder or toured the wasatch. once again, fuck colorado, you can have it.
i still love you too, we have been through so much together and i dont want our opinions to tear us apart. but i still disagree with you, i have skiied face deep powder many many times, at silverton, steamboat, and crested butte, and close to face deep like everywhere else. and i still have to say that breck, and keystone, and aspen are as good if not better than park city for park. breck's jumps are pretty much the best anywhere, keystones rails are the best ive seen, plus they have some crazy jumps too, and aspen is awesome all around. so fuck utah, you can have it too, and ill keep colorado. but remember i still love you.
yeah well we have, copper, vail, keystone, loveland, breck, a basin, beaver creek, ski cooper, all within 25 minuites. but if you go within a couple hours you have like 15
Yes, and so would NOAA....CO resorts only average about 300" of light, fluffy, 4-8% snow. UT gets 200-300" more of 6-10% snow...meaning deeper bases, longer powder days, and better skiing.
So my vote goes to colorado. Utah sucks for the reasons mentioned above.
both are good, if you like weed colorado is good, if you like mormon sluts and wannabe gangstas utah's for you! We obviously chose somewhat where we live, we're obviously gonna rep our state the best. There are obvious snow trends that have been proven over decades, if ns wasnt a bunch of park rats, you'd all realize how great of skiing you can get almost anywhere from hiking! i prefer colorado because 6.4 is better than 3.2
Here's me two pennies...
I've lived in Utah my whole life and absolutelty love it for skiing. It has the most sick resorts in such a small drivng distance it is insane. Everything thing in BCC and LCC are sick as fuck, such a varied amount of terrain, and PC has an incredible park every year, you can go anywhere to satisfy your skiing needs.
On the flipside though, Colorado parks always have a better selection of progressive jib features and jumps, and they switch that shit up year after year. Also, Wolf Creek has the best powder ever, blows any Utah snow out of the water, no one ever talks about it though.
We measure our beer different here actually, a 3.2 is really like a 4.3ish number on everyone else's scale. Still sucks, but not as bad as everyone thinks.
the only way to settle this stupid debate is to get two jackalopes, paint one with a u and one with a c. let them loose in a grocery store and the first one to find the orange flavored toothpaste is the decider.
yea colorado is sooooo sick.... you can take interstates from your dorm room to get to the mountains.... thats so sick. wow i cant believe i dont live in boulder or denver. like the closest mtns are only an hour 15 mins away. fuck im so lucky. then gosh i love so much to sit in traffic for 4 hours on my =way back down to my dorm room, only to have to drive the 5 hours again the next time i want to shread.
yea and plus weed is decriminalized in denver so coloado is totally sicker. plus half of colorado is kansas anyways so we have so much fuckin state pride we drive 30 minutes to get to the great plains. damn that place is sick.
Sounds good to me. If you people in Colorado think you actually get snow, then for the love of all that is holy, stay there. We don't need any more idiots in Utah.
...because Utah is sick enough that we don't have to whore ourselves out to the media and corporations to get some play, whereas that is the name of the game in colorado. game on, pussy.
UTAh kicks co ass when it comes to snow but after skiing pc i can honestly say that kestone, breck, even wp have better parks and vail, buttermilk or on the same par and copper is even close to pc pc's park doesn't flow, isn't that diverse, and it really isn't all that great, but the scene in utah is better no doubt if you want pow utah but honestly when i went to pc i was let down
i have not read any of this thread yet but i strongly feel colorado is superior. crested butte, aspen, steamboat and breck are some of the best resorts in the world. copper, winter park, abasin etc.
Also, to all you colorado people bragging about resorts... Canyons has SICK BC. PC has SICK park. Deer valley has.... SICK... ONE PIECES...?? (not so sure whats cool about deer valley) and that is within an hour of brighton alta snowbird solitude especially in the summer with guardsmans pass open, not that it really matters. And snowbasin is in ogden and is way fun because there is never anybody there and it is just a sick ass mountain
