I am trying to plan a trip for this winter and since neither website is really that helpfull I was just wondering what your opinions were, Aspen or Vail?
ummmmm, i ski in aspen for close to 20 days a year and have family that lives there. i think i'm qualified to talk here. but i'll say i've never skiied vail. but all i've heard about it has been that it's over rated.
i ski at aspen/snowmass probably 80 days a year and i have also skied at vail a fair amount. you'll never get bored at snowmass. garaunteed. plus the longest line, at the busiest season at snowmass doesnt compare to the slowest weekend in vail or anywhere else in the surrounding area (breck , keystone, etc).
jea, vail mucho better, def go to vail, then u can see me kill it, haha jk, but seriously, vial is def better, aspen is alright, but vail is def better
I love them both. I'm biased towards Vail because I grew up skiing Vail, but to be honest....(Get ready)
Aspen Highlands kicks the shit out of pretty much all the in bounds terrain at Vail.
Granted, they both have their advantages. Vail has more bowls, they just aren't as steep. You can also spend a season in Vail and not ski all the terrain. There is so much stuff not marked on the trail map to be had if you know where to look.
1. vail is not much bigger than aspen. aspen has 4 mountains to choose from which are all totally different in their own ways.
2.Vail is not steeper than aspen. especially aspen mountain.
3.every ski resort is full of rich gapers
4.that website is just whistler trying to prove that they're superior to everyone else.
first of all, is there something wrong with being rich? does it automatically make you a gaper? secondly, is being big the only justification vail has for beating aspen?
jewdogg is holdin it down. fuckin vail is the most obnoxious place. it take at least 30 minutes to get from your car to the lift. then its another two lift rides to get to the back bowls. plus the bowls aren't even challenging. their fun if you ride really fast or if its mad pow. i hate to admit this but the lake chutes at breck are for more challenging than anything i've rode at vail. and the front of vail is just a waste of space.
hold on, whats wrong with haveing chairlifts at the bottom of a lot of runs? plus, how is having separate mountains, like aspen better than vail where you can get to any run without having to switch mountains? And why complain about catwalks, if you dont wanna ride them, go ove them.
Now about the fact that aspen has a bunch of rich folks, so does vail, its expensive as shit to go to vail, but the thing about aspen is that they are rich snobs that go to aspen because its popular, and thats where celebs get photographed. Vail has rich people that love skiing. But either way, its really no big deal because the rich old folks tend to stick to the runs without hard terrain and moguls, knees cant take it.
they are both amazing, but vail is just so fuckin massive, all in one mountain, and the bowls are amazing
no. there is NOTHING wrong with being rich. i was just saying that there are alot of people there that are rich a gapers. note: i said alot not all. and i believe that aspen get's more publicity than vail just because there is alot of money there.
Ive been skiing at vail since I was a kid, and went to aspen for the first time last year. Once is all it took, not going back to vail this year, already have the house booked in aspen. Vail=crowded monotonous and a bit overated. They said it best, you will not get bored with the terrain in Aspen.
obviosly u have never skied vail dick head
vail is like four aspens
got steeps, park, powder and you dont have TO FUCKIN DRIVE TO EACH ONE
cheers
(aspen is gay)
Do you know where I am from? Do you know that I grew up skiing Vail? Do you know that I still ski Vail all the time? Did you take the time to look at my profile and see that Vail is my home mountain? Do you know that I also spend a significant amount of time in Aspen? Did you see my post at the top of the page, or did you just jump onto a thread and add nothing to the discussion, asshole?
