KB's Park This Winter- Possibilities '06-'07

So I dropped by KB today as I was next door at Pizza Glen. Took a hike up the hill onto the park. Devils Funnel and World Chair area.
The moved a LOT of dirt, and made a jump line area in the lower area of Devils Funnel. They got ride of the natural halfpipe and created 3 decent sized tables from dirt.
I hiked up. They seem to have a long steep landing area, and could easily be used to put up 40 footers...
What they did with the dirt looks nice, and looks promising. We'll see if they do anything worthwhile with it when there is snow on it, and we'll see if the committment is in the park from the first 2 weeks. If they don't have snowmakers pissing all over that hill within the first few weeks, it'll be another waste of a season.
But it looks like it has potential. Tyler was there with me, but got his shoes stuck in mud and didn't venture up the slope with me, so all he saw was from below, which was a totally different perspective.

so there are massive mounds of dirt inside the little bowl, or did they actually fill that massive thing in?

The eliminated the bowl pretty much. it's lower than the other trail, but it's all even now. No more natural 3/8s pipe.

i really hate to agree with you. but who knows, its a possibility. 40 shouldnt be consitered big though, its a normal size for a jump.

if wny actually gets snow this winter that could turn out pretty good.

the whole bowl area is always in the sun, so that translates into softer landings

I would like it if they set up the wall ride so that it was not very steep. That way having a perfect take off would be less of a factor’ since last year, you could only hit it a few times before the takeoff was completely destroyed. You could also spin up across the wall, stall up top, then spin down. Or, if you really wanted to, you could charge at the wall, air off it, and hopefully land on a steep section a few feet behind the wall.

Normal for WNY. No way. normal for anywhere else, absolutely.
Nowhere in WNY has EVER had good tables before.

Pretty close to truth.
I can rationalize and justify KB having a low-par park. But for how much money and the resources Holiday has and how pathetic their parks are is just that... Pathetic.

ILOVE how they feel compelled to add those stupid borders to every photo they put on the site.
Absolutely retarded.
I should head there and take some real pictures.
