ok, so heres the situation. i just bought pipe cleaners because theyre rad. i have scratch bcs that i used last year that have graduated from every day status to pow status. i have fks 185s on them, but i want to put my old fks 180s on those and the 185s on my pipe cleaners. does anyone know if the toe mounting pattern is the same on the old toe as the new one? if so, i can just take the 185s off and stick the 180s on without having to redrill. otherwise, ill have to come up with some other options. id look myself, but im up at school and my skis are at home...bummer. so, if anyone has any idea what the scoop is, please let me know. much apreeeeeeeciated.

im gonna assume they have the same mounting pattern. I doubt if there different.
therefore they can't screw it back into the same holes. So you either mount it 1cm forward or back of the original, or you might be able to get the old holes heli coiled and they can put the binding back in the same spot.
What is your reasoning for putting the 185's on the pipe cleaners? You just wanna put newer bindings on them? Sounds kinda silly to me.
im pretty sure the fks 180's will do you fine. It's not like you cranking the din that much higher.....

^ i just figured if i could switch the bindings out, i might as well. and if im going to be using the skis all the time, i want something on them that wont break...the 180s are a good 4 or 5 seasons deep whereas the 185s are only 1 season. im not going to be using the bcs nearly as much, so, theres my reasoning. regardless, thanks for the input.

no no no no no. if you use the same holes, you should definitely heli coil. othersise, you risk ripping your bindings out.
if the pattern is the same, heli coil... if it's different, move at least 1cm from the previous mounting point.

i have had the same bindings off and on my made'ns 3 or 4 times, and havent ripped them out yet...and im not a small guy either. as long as you put the screws in slowly, gently, and use new wood glue, i would say you are fine...but its your call.
