sad but true. so far i've seen god save the robots, show and prove, ski porn, and photoplay and everyone one of them sucked except photoplay. i didn't expect much from GSR but it was much worse then i ever could have imagined. Ski porn was alright..nothing to crazy and the music remided me of shit you might have heard years back when they released propaganda and stereotype. Show and Prove made me laugh..in a bad way. Hopefully long story short and skimatic are good because so far i'm quite disapointed.
in response to the music comment. thank god. i dont know about everyone else but im so sick of this indie/techno bullshit. straight up punk and hiphop. thank you. i mean, Rise Against and Good Riddance, on the same soundtrack? fuck yes.
ski movies suck every year. they have all been making the same movie over and over for the past 5 years or so.
how can snowboarding be so far ahead of skiing??
I 've seen skimatic and it was sick. I ordered photoplay, stoked to check it out. And Long Story Short will be epic, I 'm sure! Absinthe is great. I absolutly love super tech freestyle tricks in huge big mountain runs. But I'm also stoked about the ski movies this year. I think snowboard movies aren't too far ahead and I've seen alot of snowboard and skiing movies.
I wanna see cable cams in next years ski movies.
seriously this year I think Skimatic and Long story short will own!!! At least, Skimatic kicks the ass very easily of ski porn and show n prove, but respect show n prove its tanner yo!
East Coast you are a moron, if i remember correctly you made a movie this year right? Ok so assuming you did are you ready to get hit in the face, because the quality of your trailer to others is not even comparable, and you have no room to talk unless you can make a movie at the caliber those companies are making. You keep running your mouth about how much movies suck, than i think to prove us wrong, and show us how good your's supposedly is you put it on the net for free since your such a better film maker. I havent seen many of this years movies, but you are personally taking and putting other peoples and artist's hard work down. If you worked for a legit company you would truely understand how much all people in the ski film industry bust their ass to put there stuff out and just make enough money to do it all again the next year, and try and bring you a better product. Until you have some legitimacy to talk you should keep quiet and quit hating on lots of other peoples hard work and jobs. You'll never make it in the industry if you continue to run your mouth as you do. When you went in the Colorado Forums and posted that you wanted to make films and wanted to know what a good school was...the truth of the matter is, that when film makers see what your putting on here, and then meet you, and you realize that there are a few key players in the industry you'll end up jobless, and a hobo on the corner of some hick town in Alaska wishing you had only had a more open mind.
what are you talking about, everyone has a goddamn opinion you edont have to be a proffesional movie maker to say you were dissapointed in the movie.. you ever go to a movie theatre and say "damn that movie sucked", do you make better movies, dont think so, whats the difference between that and this? the only thing i would recommend show and prove for is if you cant get any sleep, cause that movie will put you out better than any medicine.. thats my opinion, yall bitches wanna judge what i say judge it, but dont say i dont have the right to say it, fuck you dumb fucks
I don't think you can judge a movie on your first view. It's after 3 or 4 times that i think you reallyt get an idea about it. It's a bit like music, i rarley like a song the first time i hear (and when i do, i usually get bored of it just as fast)
in response though, i'm not saying he cant have an opinion what so ever, but when someone knocks on companies like poorboyz, bigger picture and so on, they should deffinately try to critique the movie, and develop new ideas and put them to work, not just sit there and be like every other 15 year old on this site telling everyone how much they suck at everything, whether it be skiing, filming or pictures....i mean yea by all means you can have those freedoms but show some respect for other peoples work, when you dont even realize how hard some of the people work to put those products and videos out to show to all of you. For example, some 12 year old throws a 360 and wants some help/advice from the site cuz he's super stoked on sticking a 3, the first three things said are, you suck, buy new clothes, get some steeze....east coast is just a mirror of that crowd of NS, by making the statement i did, was simply trying to make him realize the work people put into movies, to entertain all of us. And to answer your question, no i cant remember ever not liking a movie, i find a way to enjoy every movie i see, because i love movies, and i know someone worked hard to make it. Yes at points i want to find stuff to do better, so thats why i'm a film major in College so i may or may not have the opportunity to do that
yeah I thought that ski porn was pretty damn good but could have been better but the t-shirt is sick. Much of anything is pretty good though...Also what I have seen of your movie I am not very stoked on either...
I agree ski porn was lame as hell. Morrison? No backs nothing that big. Julein Regneir part was LAME. Looked like a high school promo, Mahres segment was probably the best along with Jon and the one with the follow cams. I wasn't impressed. Its a new year do something new. Pep had a cool BC trick I liked a lot. But over all? I didn't feel stoked to ride after. At all. And yeah I will save my money on show and prove thanks.
