Alright so im gonna pickup a pair of new J vs J and was thinking along the lines of either a salomon 912 TI from last year or the new 914 B85, Ive been told that wider mount patterns are better with this ski beccasue of the soft core theres a tendancy for tear out. Anyway let me know of your experience with either the J vs. J and salomon bindings in general, thanks.

i've been using salomon bindings for years and they've always been great for me. i have 914's currently on my foils and they haven't malfunctioned one time. if you're light, you could get away with the 912, but otherwise i'd say go with the 914. i think they're more reliable.

i've got axial 140s on mine and have had no probs. i think it is mainly the race stock (ie. fks and p18) that have had probs (not even that many), because they have tight screw patterns.

after doing some more research with the search bar it seems many people prefer the looks over salomon, sounds like salomon have a nack for requiring re-adjustment. Anyone using looks on J vs. J? i thought looks had a narrow mounting pattern (tear out)?

Looks are fine on JP vs Juliens so long as they are NOT the ones with the pivot heels (04/05 p12/power/scratch series and look and rossi racestock).
I use solly 916s on mine.

wrong. Its the p12's and p14's that have the tight heel pattern. If you didn't rip yours out.. either you got lucky or didn't ski that hard.
I personally would recommend the 4frnt deadbolt. Screw pattern is nice and wide.. and they are incredibly light (compliments the ski nicely) and durable.

Never ever buy a salomon unless it is a 916, heel piece housing on 912 and 914 is plastic. Ive worked at a shop in CB for the last 5 years and we se 2-3 broken heels a week. Not to mention you have to re-tighten the wing adjustment every few days. Go with a new look or rossi or a 9 16

right on ill have to look into the 4 Frnt, and looks that do not have the pivot heel, but i definetly like the idea of 4 Frnt.

^ yeah they're sick!! 412's are blue, 614's are white, and 8-16's are green. and they are all ~$269 this year.

Yea, cuz 150 calls for at least a din of 8. (insert rolling eyes)
All times are Eastern (-5)
