YES YOU DO!
i cant tell you how many times the applecare plan has saved my ass.
i could pull all the receipts from AppleService and give you all the amounts i saved its easily over $2000 more than the cost of my imac.
In the course of my 3 years with my old Imac i had the foloowing repairs
new LCD monitor (about 600 bones), new SuperDrive(250 bones), New Motherboard (#00 bones), New aiport antenna and card (100 bones), repaired harddrive, many software errors corrected. and on the Laptop applecares you et monitor coverage too.
applecare kicks ass and you defienly need it

Absolutly. Laptops are breakable by their very nature. Unless you are super careful its nearly inevitable that something will break. Getting a laptop without a protection plan is like fucking a crack whore without a condom...its just not a good idea.

Your normal Apple warranty is one year with 90 days of phone support. You can buy applecare anytime during that first year and be covered for 3 years from DATE OF PURCHASE. If you can't afford it now, and start having troubles 6 months down the road, get applecare. If you can afford it now, get applecare.
