Does this happen to any1 else? Ure doing fine, landin brand new tricks u never tried before, when something small happens. All of a sudden, you cant seem to land anything. You slowly lose all of ure confidence, and the more you keep on fightin it, the more and more you start to lose ureself, until u have almost no confidence to bust out any trick. You go home, beaten and sore. Thinkn to ureself, what went wrong? and sartn to think how you failed ureself, and how you embarassed ureself....

it happened to me petek. here i was landing 540 safetys like nothing, then all of a sudden, i overshoot it and fall. i try again, then i just couldn't seem to get back to my good ones, i kept falling, then the lifts closed so i hiked it for an hour, and i still couldn't get it right, so i went home pissed off. then i went home and into my hot tub, smoked a couple bowls, and said fuck it, i'll get it again.

I couldn't say that's happened to me on skis, but definately in tons of other things. Like when I was wakeboarding, I was hitting the wake hard and then I pulled a muscle in my calf on a bad landing. I went in for about an hour, icing my leg then when I went back into the water, I could hardly jump the wake cuz I was so scared that I was gunna hurt myself. Same sorta thing happened to me when I was doing diving...actually I don't even think I'll ever do a gainer again..

It's kinda mental thing...cause before you fall or mess up, you don't think that anything can go wrong then when you fall, you start to think that that could happen again and it would hurt and suck really bad. So then, you start to hold back and keep on screwing up. I could be wrong, but ya.

happened to me when i first tried sliding rails--i was nailing the plastic one all morning and then i decided to try the metal one for the first time--i got on to the rail three times in a row and fell really hard three times. after that i couldn't even get my skies to ollie onto the rail--i would simply carve off the edge of the lip and feel like a big huge pussy (feel free to make as much fun of me as you want) after that day i tried other days and all i could do was go off the side of the lip. it took my snowboarder friends threatening to kidney punch me REALLY hard if i didn't cut it the fuck out before i could actually get the monkey off my back and get onto the rail. after that the first time i tried sliding a metal rail i nailed it, then again the second and third time. i guess what i'm trying to say is fear sucks a bunch of a whore's ass and if you let it get to you it can fuck up your progression so either let it go or have a bunch of friends who call you a big pussy if you don't keep trying.
