I've never spent more then $250 shipped on skis and bindings. I'd rather keep my money, I don't mind used skis or last years skis.

depends what kinda skis you want.. Depends if you're buying a well made, high end custom-type ski, or a mass manufactured ski made in China... MY new Kingswoods are costing me $650 shipped to my door(and that's with a deal), Iggy's go for like $1000, Bros are $599, and good luck getting any of those skis new at less than those prices.

Word, I wouldn't spend $600+ on a pair of Libertys...not that I'm saying they're bad skis, I've got a pair of Libertys that I picked up used for ridiculously cheap and taught on them all last year and skied park and they work fine. But on a Pair of Kingswoods, Iggys, Birdos, or some other custom or super high end/specialized ski, like the Pontoon, or certain Volkls, I might spend that much...but skis like those are an investment, and you can't be taking them in the park and trashing them on rails and shit, only on epic days and in BC skiing would I use them most likely.

I think the SBs are great skis. I would consider buying those for $625 because they are a one-ski quiver. I would never spend more than $500 on a ski though if I were to have more than 1. However, that being said, if I could afford more, I would definitely snag high quality skis!

The skis I'll be riding most of the time this year cost me $1,066, and my other pair was $800. I could buy a pair of cheap crappy skis, but that would limit me and make skiing less fun. I guess it all depends on what sort of skiing you do and what you want out of a ski.

haha not on liberties. But like everyone else is saying I would for somethin like custom made or more high end. If I had the dough I would've scored myself some kingswoods in a second. and wow enigma that is one intense collection you've got there, what skis are they??

It's in US dollars, and that includes bindings. There's a few pairs of skis that are really popular around here and never really go on sale so you have to pay full price. I was thinking of getting Karmas instead for about $600, but those were too soft.

Liberties look horrible in person and are very heavy. They have a long way to go. I wouldn't ski them for free.

Sorry to have to disagree with you man, cause you know your shit most of the time, but Liberty skis are insanely light...the pair I've got (not sure what model cause I picked them up used and all) are somewhere around 180cm and, rough guess 80ish underfoot, definite park skis, but they are loads lighter than my buddys AR5's, we traded off and on and he always said my skis were so light that they felt more like snowblades...and coming off the Libertys and stepping into those Armadas made it feel like I had concrete blocks strapped to my feet...

no way. as smeone who builds skis, thats stupid. for one, ABS sidewalls blow. they are ok on cheaper skis, but on that kinda budget, UHMW is the only option. its lighter, stronger, more resiliant, and has better dampening properties.

also, thier construction is BASIC. yea, they come up with fancy names for shit, but its all the same stuff. WOVEN triax glass is ok, but unidirectional, layed up layer by layer is much better, and allows alot better customization of the flex properties. the fancy dampener they talk about is a thin piece of rubber tape layed up over the edges, used in just bout every ski, and its practically free.

anyway, ive never really been to impressed with them. ive always thought the skis were so so, the graphics were bad, and the name liberty just plain sucks. are they horrible skis? no. they are pretty light, i will give them that, but they just dont stick out as anything worth buying over all the other stuff out there.
