I am getting a new car and was wondering every one's opinion. Would you rather have a car that is AWD that has only a ski rack and not much cargo space or and SUV like a jeep or pathfinder.
If you buy an SUV there's a few rules you have to follow:
-Always talk on your cell phone
-Periodically switch lanes without signalling
-NEVER use your blinkers
-Cut off at least six people each day
-And above all, never under any circumstance can you ever have a passenger. That is just ridiculous.
I say go for a midsize SUV that has cargo space and a ski rack.
Honda, Hyundai, and Toyota all have nice midsizers. Check them out and they're pretty affordable.
Buying a used car from the early 2000s isn't a bad idea either.
i have always been a fan of SUV's. AWD cars are nice and all, but w/o some ground clearance on some of those snowy days when you really got to be at the slopes, you are gonna go no where. plus you can carry different types of crap w/ a suv, while a car you are always pressed for space. so my vote is SUV all the way
My outback can get further up a snowy road than my stepdad's F-250 with chains can. And I have shitty tires on my car. You don't need clearance to drive through snow, you need traction.
If you buy an SUV, expect to be aiming for something in the bottom of your price range because you'll be paying quite a bit more for gas.
P.S. You're in NH are the roads that bad on the way up to the ski hill? I live in British Columbia and drove a 1986 VW Jetta up to the ski hill every day I could. I was passing SUVs, trucks and vans that were crawling up the roads, and these are real mountain roads on real mountains.
I say NAY to an SUV, just a waste of gas, get something small and fun that's not going to tip when you move your coffee from your cupholder to your left hand. Subarus are nice, Jettas/Golfs kill it on the roads, there are so many cars to choose from.
That Audi would be nice except you'd be getting the same gas mileage as a truck!
