what are you looking for preformance relaibility top speed least likey to be notice by cops you gotta helo me on this one...but ive always had a thing for jettas espeically that one
well i own a gli just like that but am looking at this m3. i don't know if i should sell mine and get the m3 or just keep mine. i have an auto in my gli and want a manual.
yeah dude trust me, a manual will be so much more fun, ive driven an m3 and they are just perfect, the way the steering feels, the clutch, shifter, suspension is all so well set up. though i still think an s4 would be better if you can find one, they are awd and have the same performance.
00' to 01.5' S4's are between $17K and $28K...they have much more of a sleeper look, and with the twin turbo V6 can be tuned to 400hp very easily and some are over 500hp
if your lucky you can find one for 15ish, and with only a 500 dollar chip you can get a gain of 80 hp and around 100lb-ft. of torque, so around 320-330 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque. then you can beat sti's, and evo's. or get new turbos for around 3000 and then its around 450 hp.
To get to 450hp you need exhaust, downpipes, new fuel pump, manifold, intakes, plugs, bi-pipe, and a few more...not to mention that's actually 2 K04 turbos at $3000 a pop...if you do it yourself, you can tune a stock for about $10K to 450hp...STI's and Evo's still have a better chance condisering S4's weigh in at 3700 lbs!
if thats a true Dinan M3 proformance wize that kicks the s4's and the gli's ass's like out of the water, the dinan is like a suped up version of the m series. so i say the Bmw
How much are you looking to spend and where are you located?? I have a "chipped" (318hp) 2001 S4 Silver I'd considering getting rid of. Let me know if you are interested.
yea, I would go witht he M3. Im a bit biased though. I would never ever want a front wheel drive car. 99's a pretty later model e36 so that car shouldnt have many problems as long as you get it checked out by a place you trust.
A well tuned S4 can take a stock STI any day, but all an STI drived has to do is replace the turbo and they can take an S4...are you on audiworld.com by any chance
my car should drive close to the same as an M3 in the snow. Its pretty damn good. the most important thing in the snow is snow tires. then its just what your used to. your less likley to fuck up in a front wheel drive car, but when you do, its harder to correct. I was passing Audis on my drive from Aspen to Durango, and that includs red mountain pass which is the most dangerous road in colorado. I didnt even slip in a turn once. got yokahama snow tires for the winter. Also, traction controll is helpful (both of those cars have that). but most importantly SNOW TIRES!!!
id go with the gli and its almost brand spanken new and a fast ass car it comes stock with the nice BBS RC rims, the 6-speed tranny and the recaro interior thats what im all about, but thats my opinion, and to the guy who was talking bout getting 2000-2001.5 s4's for around 15-17g's hes right my friend got a 01.5 for 15.6 and it only had 52,000 miles on it such a good deal, but if u want my opinion on which car to get id say go gli u can tune that 1.8t engine easily
oh yeah and would you happen to have a dark blue s4 and live in colorado? i saw one driving up loveland pass one time on the way to abasin and he looked like a skier.
ooof. just saw your car is an auto. GET THE M3 for sure no doubt about it dont look back. 5 years of differance doesnt matter. theres a reason why VW has to come out with a new model about twice as much as BMW does.
wait im a little confused, is that ur GLI? and ur just asking us if u should sell it to get the M3? and if thats ur GLI and it is auto then id get the M3 cuz its manuel. But if thats not ur GLI, and u r gonna buy that 1 and its manuel then get the jetta
probably a year or two left. 73000 on the bmw and 16000 on my gli. they are asking for 18900 but i think i could lower it a bit. see i am leasing my car so i would have to sell it and pay it off. its complicated.
yea, thats probably a little steep for the BMW. I guess it depends on how much money you would loose, if you have to pay for all the mantainence and shit on your car, if you car about gas prices, and so on. With 17k miles and 2 years left on the warrenty, it might be nice to keep the VW. but as a car, I would take the M3 over it any way. Not that the VW is bad, but...
