Who else has seen it? Andreas Hatveit's segment is the best skiing segment I have ever seen. The mix of jumps and urban rails is great, and the follow cams are unreal.
Camera work was good, but I wasn't too impressed with the skiing. Maybe I've already seen my share of 9s and 10s in person. I much preferred Andy and JP's segments.
If you guys like those follow cams there's a teaser for Mind The Gap that has some pretty cool shit in it
i was just reading the names for the mind the gab crew and god it's incredible one skier can spread out into so many movies. And no that is definitly not a good thing
agreed. I would assume that we see this happening for a variety of reasons, including:
- the vast majority of 'pro' skiers still rely on the competition scene to define their season.
- unless you're JP Auclair or in that league it's probably quite difficult to dedicate yourself to one segment for the year while making a living and dealing with sponsor obligations.
- for some reason some ski companies believe that the more films their athletes are in, the better. It's as if they don't even watch the segments at the end of year to see their athletes in 10 half assed segments, when one done properly would suffice just fine.
I'm not sure who we have to blame for this but I'm hoping more athletes fight for the chance to do their own thing this coming season. Of course that only works when the athlete has a self motivated goal and vision for their season...
Well I can understand this, just for the obvious advertisement and getting the brand and athelete name out there. The more movies they are in, they more chance they are of being seen by some kid who then supports thier company because of it. Im not saying i like seeing 1 skier in 4 movies, I would rather like to see 1 solid part, but then i would need like 5 movies.
does anyone know when the preorders hit? my paypal account said that it shipped out a while ago but they arent tracking them so i have no idea, it seems like it shouldve been here now
Here is my thing with mahre's segment, dont get me wrong it is really good. BUT, as far as switch in the backcountry i think pep's segment in WAR was more progressive and technical, does anyone else agree?
dude HUGE switch 3, 180, 540, zero and a ton more swith pow stuff and he stomped the fuck out of them all. i would have trouble landing straight airs off all those.
ok well the riding was sick and most the music was ok but the editing just didnt go with the music. it seems like that when they had a fast song, it would be all slow motion..etc.. i think they over edited it... they could of done a better job with editing to the music
